4.0 doesn't recognize all drives

I have 3 external SSD's that are all identical. I plug them in via a powered dock and use Serato to make sure they are identical. With 4.0 it will only see one drive at a time. So my drives a E,F, & G. It will always load G. If I remove G and then open Serato it will load E or F. If I plug one drive in it will load that. But I need to see all drives b/c I store videos on one drive and mp3's on another.

does your method work with Serato 3.3.5?
As far as I know Serato reads off one external drive at a time, or you will have so many duplicate files,
you have 3 drives that are Identical, do they have the same Drive name?
if they dont then theres no point of having 3 identical drives that have different drive names.
its much easier and less stress free if all your DJ music and videos are all on one external drive, once you do that then create an identical external drives from that main drive,
also whichever external drive has the 2 Serato folders then thats the main master drive.

Can you elaborate - if they are identical... Why do they host different files? You mention videos on one, and mp3s on the other.
Or do you mean they are the same model, but have different files?

I have 3 external drive that are all 4tb SSD and 1 4tb drive for videos. They are all Samsung drives inside UGreen enclosures. In previous versions I could connect all three and it would recognize all 3 in Serato. Now it will only recognize one drive at a time.

this could be the issue, your drives have to have the same drive name, it may have a different drive letter, but it must have the same Drive name,
if you are going to have duplicate dj drives for djing, then the drives have to have the same drive names, ( but I advise using 1 drive at a time)
so it doesnt confuse Serato.
you have to use one external drive for use with Serato at a time,
if that means taking files out of your drive and compacting it to one external drive then it must be done.
trust me this is going to save you a ton of stress

No that's not true. You can have different names. All that matters is Serato can read the serato folders and the location. I can even dj from a mapped drive when it's at home and I'm at a gig.

I didnt say that it wasnt possible, Im saying this could be the reason why you're having issues.
Serato will read from which ever drive or folder you drag music from, but if you don't have that drive plugged in the next time you run Serato, then it will show in orange and say the file is missing, leaving many files in orange that wont load,
this is why I suggested its not a good idea and to have all your music on one drive instead of multiple drives,

I get what you're saying and when I dj only one is connected. When I'm home testing is when all 3 are connected. It's just weird that it's been fine since Itch but now it doesn't with 4.0

But why do you need to have three drives plugged in with the same content?

I only have the three plugged in after I mirror them to test. When I DJ I only use one and have one ready to go if needed. If for some reason they both get damaged or stolen, I can have the third overnighted to dj with. I always have a backup for a backup and for another backup. I connect all three at the same time just in case RAID doesn't work as it should. After scanning I can look to see if a copy has been corrupted or not. If it has I can tell if it was corrupted on which drive and also tell what drive has a good file and replace the corrupted ones. This is also why I network my NAS to a shared folder. No sense in having a NAS if the files are corrupt.

Oh Ok, I get it, you run your 3 drives in raid configuration, let me get some clarity here, when you run raid does your 3 drives show up as one single drive on your computer?
my apologies, it all makes sense.
I think the issue is SDJ 3.3.5 accepted your raid configuration cause it didnt have the new USB feature,
now that SDJ 4.0 has the New USB feature, maybe it doesn't recognise or does not like how your drive is in Raid config,
you could share your setup with Serato so they can look into this: support.serato.com
Raid configs for drives is good security, if one drive fails you wont lose your data, you just pop in a new identical drive and your data will be rebuilt again,
question: so do you have a 4 bay Nas drive?
must be a mission taking it to gigs, cause its not compact.

I have an 6 bay NAS. I never take it with me. It never leaves home. What I do is use a VPN to remote in. Once I remote in it gets mapped as a shared drive. Serato thinks it's connected to my PC but in reality it's home.

wow, its definately different to the norm.
so everything depends on internet connection and a fast wifi.
what a mission, what if theres no wifi?

Well I NEVER rely on wifi for connecting to my NAS or any streaming service. If my main fails, I move to my backup that I always carry with me. Again I have backups of backups. I do have about 150 main stream wedding songs on the internal hard drive of both Macs too

I have a similiar problem. Serato won't read or write from my nas. Can't even add a song, to a crate, from the server. All of my music and videos is on the nas server, cause I use it on 2 Macs at the same time.
So I have no data stored on my Macs. except Serato.
I have tried contacting Serato, but all the answer I got was, that they don't support nas servers!! But its has been working since 2012, but not in 4.0 or 4.0.1

so I guess you had found a way for Serato to read from your Nas drives, but this feature is not a official Serato feature, so when Serato created 4.0 this really messed up what worked for you in past versions of Serato,
and Serato is not going to fix an issue that they never created in the first place,
so it leaves you with 2 options,
stay on SDJ Pro 3.3.5 or use a system that Serato advises people to use, use music from external hard drives, internal hard drives or known streaming platforms.
thats the only options you have.
