Phase resetting to zero

DJ EkSeL 10:45 AM - 27 December, 2024
I tried searching through the threads to see if anyone is having this issue but no results pop up so my apologies if this has been discussed.

This is my 2nd phase unit. I had 1 about a year ago and I lost my backpack so I purchased this 2nd one. Now everytime I have a monitor blasting near this 2nd unit, it tends to reset it's self back to zero even if it's at +3 (or anything else). It's especially annoying when it happens right at a transition. I have to re calibrate for it to work again. I didn't have this issue with the 1st ones I had that I lost with my backpack. The only difference is that this 2nd set comes with 4 remotes and even if I swap them out, it'll still happen. If I don't use the monitor, everything works fine. but fuuuuuhhh...I need to hear my mix LOL. In emergency cases, I've had to swap in needles because it becomes too often...again only when there is a monitor playing.
I've tried placing the main unit in different places with no different result. I'm even thinking about replacing the remotes but it's doing that with all 4 that I currently have.

I guess what's puzzling is that it's only happening with this 2nd unit. I reallly don't want to spend another 500 bucks just to end up in the same scenario.

What do you guys think?

Did you reach out to MWM about the issue? I never had that happen but my Phase hasn't been exposed to your environment. They seem to be cool about support.

I did after I posted this, I'll see what they say. I was just curious to see if anyone else had this issue.

sounds like a vibration issue since its only happening with the turntable that's close to the monitor speakers?

High sound Frequencies could also cause Phase issues.

or you can take it back to where you bought it from and ask if you can swap it out cause the ones you have are faulty.

I assume the the BPM TAP Feature is on!
You can easily turn it off when you log into Phase via the Phase Manager Software.

I highly recommend to check if its on or off.

Brooooo...That actually worked. I guess the thumps of the monitor were coming in as finger taps and it was assuming I was recalibrating the remotes.

Much appreciated!

good to know, I have no experience with phase as I dont use one but it sounded like vibration from the speakers was causing the issue

This is great solution. I always wondered about that feature but never activated it.

Thanks G-Rebel.
