I'm beating that dead horse myself. Though channels not available to everyday users and I'm still not coming up with any hint.
I'm hoping it's a embargo thing and we will see it like monday Dec 2nd. But if it's a technical thing and they wanted into hands of beta testers 1st, given the challenges of the AZ launch, I don't expect it until after Christmas.

this looks like a Rekordbox controller even the display in the middle looks like Rekordbox,
people should read up on what they will buy to save them constantly asking, will it be supported by Serato, same thing happened with the first DDJ1000 controller, then Pioneer created a different controller called DDJ1000srt.
its all a business move to make people use a good controller with Rekordbox and not Serato.

theres a reason why Serato support is coming at a later date, Pioneer wants everyone thats bought the controller early tuse Pioneer Rekordbox.
Its all a marketing strategy by Pioneer.

Same thing that happened with the XDJ RX3 I bought it shortly after release and they didn’t add support for Serato till months later I recall at least 3-4 months it took. I quickly sent it back for the Rev 7 which is the best decision I ever made. Rev 7 was announced right after the RX3 which i thought was interesting.

If you looked at any photo of the AZ you would see Serato Screen printed right on the face of the controller and Pioneer announced at launch that Serato support was coming in December.

The reality is people dont research the product they are buying,
instead they're on Serato forums whining about, "when is Serato gonna support this controller"
all they see is "ooooh new controller" add to cart, buy.
no research at all.
??? I think Code:E is talking to u,

Doubtful. Serato support is coming but I think it won’t be till 2025. I don’t see it happening in December at all cause Alpha Theta/Pioneer are almost always months late on Serato support.

Some solid bug fixed that users may way to consider as well, not just AZ support:
8 December, 2024
New Features:
Serato DJ Pro support for the AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ
Tracks now load faster when loaded from folders with many files in them
A popup notification is now shown when there is no internet connection and a subscription has expired
Bug Fixes:
Fixed a bug that could cause waveforms to disappear on the Pioneer DJ DJM-S11 display
Fixed a crash that could occur on startup or device connection
Fixed a crash that could occur when using Beatport/Beatsource and the streaming account is used on another device
Fixed a bug that caused Stem FX to be disengaged on deck 2 when loading a track to deck 1 with the AlphaTheta DDJ-GRV6
Fixed a bug that prevented an FX slot from being armed on start up of the DDJ-REV5

I’m sorry to say this, but I think the recent update to the AZ is disappointing and feels like a missed opportunity for this unit. After 12+ years as a loyal Serato user, I’m now (with a heavy heart) considering switching to Rekordbox, especially now that their stems feature is on par with Serato. That said, I still prefer how Serato has implemented stem effects.
The main factors keeping me with Serato are its excellent stability and its seamless integration with SoundSwitch, which are unmatched.
However, there are several issues with the AZ update that stand out:
Screen usage: The layout doesn’t seem to make better use of the screen compared to the XZ.
Stems on performance pads: I can’t customize which performance pads trigger stems. Right now, they’re mapped to Shift + Beatloop, which isn’t ideal. Double-tap functionality would have been a much better solution (and doesn’t require two hands like shift does).
Grid edit mode: I couldn’t enter this mode—it seems like a bug?
Key Sync issues: Key Sync failed to work on first use. Possibly another bug?
Features I’d love to see added:
Tag playlist button routing: It should route to the "Prepare" screen or section.
Playlists support in Serato: While the "Playlists" feature for favorite playlists is great, it doesn’t work with Serato.
Enhanced browsing: Similar to the XZ when using a USB stick—better playlist browsing and more detailed song info in the list (or the ability to define which columns are shown, like artist, BPM, etc.). Also, column sorting on the unit would be great, as it’s available when browsing a USB stick.
Key colors: Display key colors on the unit, similar to how they appear in Serato’s GUI.
Key changes: Allow key changes directly from the AZ screen, just like when playing from a USB stick.
Hot loops: This is still missing entirely.
I’m hoping there will be improvements in future updates, or perhaps there’s a way to mitigate some of these limitations through MIDI rerouting?
Would love to hear others’ thoughts or workarounds!

Lol, quick jump to conclusions. Why are you here in this forum anyway if that is your opinion?
I used a DDJ-SZ for a long time and wasn't fond of it due to the lack of the ability to play standalone. But in my game (upper level Weddings) I need backups, the show must go on. If the pc crashes I carry on with a stick. I use 4 decks. If the unit fails I carry on with the PC. I need the ability to download tracks (also those not available on the supported streaming services).
The point is, rekordbox is getting ahead of serato, even in standalone mode (only the lack of stems) This unit proves that. But serato is much more user friendly in se er al ways.
And yeah, I can smash 3 grand on it.. Because I earn good money with my performances. And with those the AZ is the sweet spot to support that.

I’m impressed they actually kept their word however they put out a statement some AZ units were faulty although they did say the new firmware update addressed those issues apparently. Love their products but don’t care for Alpha Theta/Pioneer as a company they have quality control issues they need to sort. It’s been a problem for quite a few years now.

I don't own a PIO AZ, but the Prime4+.
The screen support is really poorly implemented. A lot of potential is wasted here.
If you look at the support from Vitual DJ, it is implemented much better.
I hope for the sake of AZ owners that more effort has been put into the AZ.
I mainly use the Prime 4+ standalone, though.

Is there a _single_ non native Serato device (ie. it came out specifically for Serato) that has gotten support that doesn't implement displays half assed?

Lol.
Yup. I am an open format DJ and mix on the fly. No two nights are the same. I have an XDJ-XZ, I may buy an AZ in the future, but not anytime soon.
I use a laptop for quickly searching/finding a song to play next. Harder to do in standalone. I like my standalone unit because of flexibility/redundancy. If Serato goes down (which it never has), I can switch to Rekordbox. If the laptop goes down, I can plug in a USB key (searching will be slower, but I can deal with that).

Hmm, I just looked through my history and it’s weird as hell. Firstly I’m asking a really daft question about master tempo not existing on Scratch Live, someone points out it’s called key lock which I thought was for locking keys/buttons.
Anyway idiot question aside, it doesn’t make sense as it’s saying 2011 for my first started thread, which means I must have been using SSL for years without ever using key lock. I can only guess I was using absolute mode for a long time, which might make sense coming from the vinyl background.

all i remember is I used the tail end of scratch live then itch then Pro.
i cant remember exact dates, but i moved into my own gaff in 2006, i then wanted a deck setup so purchased an SL3 and ran it through my PC with a monitor connected to the wall on an arm, in 2010 i upgraded to a macbook specifically for Serato, but i never had any type of controller with it so must have just used ABS mode without thinking about the advantages of REL. The other strange thing being i must have used it for a long time without being active on the forum too.

lol I didnt know what a Mac was till DJs started telling me you need to get a Mac its way more stable and that was back in the day,
also my computer knowledge was thanks to Serato, you basically have to be a technician to be a DJ just to fix your computer issues, I remembered spending lots of money taking my computer problems to a chinese guy back in the day lol,
same here, didnt even know there was a forum.
started on Turntables, then CDJs, Then SL2, Then controller:) I even used two cd walkmans and a tapedeck in between those early years lol.
DJs nowdays dont know the struggles we had pre napster days, you also had to buy your music and if you didnt have that music then you couldnt play it.
remember when someone asked for a song request back then and you really did'nt have the song, today people look at you funny when you say you dont have the song, cause they know you can get any song from streaming sites lol, but really I just dont want to playthe song.
I used to go to events and some flashy DJ was playing a song that you knew you didnt have lol oh the envy. Good ol days.
now we are just blessed with the technologies we have now.

If it wasn’t for AM I probably never would have known about Serato till years later. I started djing right after highschool in 02’ when I graduated. Around 05’-06’ AM was all over the news media doing clubs, celeb parties and dating Nicole Ritchie which gained his popularity and shot him to superstardom. I thought he was just some overrated celeb DJ…then I actually saw him use relative mode and demonstrate his skills it blew my f’ing mind how fast he was cutting songs, transitioning and doing all sorts of tricks like he had 3 hands. Truly grateful for those times cause I dunno what I’d be doing with my life…Back in early 2000’ the forums were wild cause djs were hating and AM was an easy target because of his popularity however he always remained humble and really didn’t start beef with anyone he would just bless the forum with a post every now and then and get his bag. Over 20 yrs later I never thought I’d still be using Serato and yet here I am and I still don’t know all the features in Serato lol. I learn more knowledge each day or at an event. I haven’t quit cause the software is always progressing. I mean we have stems now which just makes DJ’ing a lot more fun. Cheers to 2025 can’t wait to see what that brings!
