Hello, I’m sure this has been mentioned before but I wanted to see if there is an option for this in the future. I’m sure thousands of people would be more than happy if this request came into motion!
When I click all on serato, on some songs I have up to 8 duplicates of one song, mainly to my disorganisation in the past but I have really tried to OCD my library over the last couple of years, mainly in crates.
I used to use iTunes prior to transitioning over to crates, the main reason I did change was mainly due to the ease of having my whole library on an external drive and having the option to plug straight into a completely different Mac and be able to just carry on!
One of the features iTunes did have was to see all duplicates. At one point when I was using iTunes through Serato, I went through these all one by one, seeing what playlists each version of the song was in, as with iTunes, you could right click on a file and there was a show playlists function which showed all playlists the specific song was in. Then delete the rest of the duplicate songs from my library. This was extremely time consuming, but the storage it did save me was pretty big!
Serato being the top software that it is and the one software I will always stick to, I’m sure you wizards have the capability to one up your competitors!
My biggest suggest would be if you could add a show duplicate files in the all audio function, with an option then to either delete duplicates, with another option to have a master song file which will add itself to all of the crates the other versions of the songs are in and remove the rest either from the library, or the storage device itself!
I feel this is a great idea and would be a massive win for you! Please let me know your thoughts & potential enrolment of this!
Many Thanks
Joe
