Can an audio file (song) be associated with an instrument

Solmil 12:25 AM - 7 December, 2023
Can I take a piece of a song and edit it with an instrument, eg. change the sound from a piano in the song audio to a guitar? and then modify the notes?

If so, how?

Many thanks

Hello,

You can use Splitter.ai to separate vocals, instruments, drums, and guitars into different stems using an existing song. Then you can use a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) to replace the piano sound with a guitar sound and edit the notes as you wish. Alternatively, you can use Moises, a mobile app that lets you isolate and remix any song.

An audio file (song) can be associated with an instrument if it contains the instrument’s sound or MIDI information. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a protocol that allows musical devices to communicate www.beballplayers.com with each other and transfer data such as notes, pitch, velocity, etc. Some songs may have MIDI files available online that you can download and use with a DAW or a synthesizer to play the song with any instrument you want. However, not all songs have MIDI files, and some may only have the instrument’s sound recorded in the audio file. In that case, you can try to isolate the instrument using the tools mentioned above or use an equalizer to filter out the other sounds.

If your sounds were created by Midi then you can replace the instrument to any of your choosing but if it was started as an audio file it won't work the same.
