I'm using that too. It works great for batch renaming. I clean up the file name first, and then I select TAG FROM FILE NAME.

There used to be a Mac app back in the days that would let you add clean up the file names and use multiple strings at the same time For example, it would remove special characters like $#_, make the file name Title Case, remove accent marks, and than re-tag your files all at once. But it stopped working a long time ago. It was a time saver.

I keep a copy of the app on a older machine and use it with flash drives before adding tunes to my gig computer library

kid3.kde.org can do something like that.

mp3tag.app has the capability as well
