It's a very good machine for DJing... and, like the Pro, is now built with Unibody technique, only plastic instead Aluminium. A big refresh for the entry-level Macbook.
This one will sell like hotcakes this Christmas.

You'll need a Pro for the firewire port.
Yes, if you have an external FW HD, a VCI AND a VFX this puppy is not OK.

also no dedicated line-in port - you wont be able to monitor line-in audio on headphones without a soundcard taking up a usb port. some lame aspects to it tho it does look pretty fresh, unibody is dope

wrong...AUDIO IN-OUT...
cerla - what im saying is that they nixed the two port standard of one being a "dedicated" in and one being a "dedicated" headphone.
now you have to pick whether you want to push audio in - or use it with headphones.
i record a lot of vinyl to mp3 and like to monitor it with headphones as i do it - if i bought this macbook - id need an external soundcard.

Ok but... seriously?
Recording with internal card is a very poor solution as far as quality is concerned... And nowadays you can buy a simple but great sounding interface for little money.

seriously, i want one! unibody plastic ftw!
just lame that they dropped firewire/2channel soundcard.
btw, ive never been disappointed with the internal soundcard on my macbook pro for recordings.

in the UK there's a £100 difference between the Macbook & the Macbook Pro
I'd think i'd rather pay the extra £100 as you also get;
A. - illuminated keyboard. - no messing about with USB powered lights in dingy clubs.
B. - firewire
C. - SD card slot
All features worth having, on a dedicated DJing machine.

Sure, I have 2 MBP too, but there's a 20% difference in price, it can make a difference especially for people coming from Windows (as they can't imagine how sweet the Macintosh tastes and are still comparing computers based on tech specs sheets).

I noticed this, but you also get a smaller hard drive: 160GB on the 13" mbp compared to 250GB on the macbook

Unfortunately, not an option for the unibody 15'' MBP
