Who said anything is wrong with it? What I am saying instead of opening 3 programs and pay a fortune for Resolume, its best to be able to do it with Serato only and stay focused.

Serato Video/syphon works quite well with OBS which is free. I record my video sets with it all the time. Don’t really care for a SV update when OBS can do so much more.

Thank you for your time but I don't think you understood quiet well the question. I use OBS and if you think I can create multiple slices to control my projection please let us know as if so I am missing something.

I get what your sayiing it would be nice if they did a video effect update for sure, even if its some sort of pack i understand they gotta probably create some sort of division to program and stuff so id pay 20.00 for it for sure if its a big update i would pay $30.00 for sure i just dont they should get greedy either its probably a small community and making it worth the time they need to be fair with their pricing

Well to be fair Serato Video has not been updated in years and it’s very buggy and they still have it for purchase.

Nope I agree it should have an update when they still have it available for purchase if they are going to stop updating it then they should stop support for it. It’s only fair to the many users that are having issues. I heard it doesn’t even work on Catalina. They’ve been to busy getting everyone involved in their production software Serato Studio.

Whats funny is that the question was to Serato and none of them stepped in to reply.
Technically they are saying just give us your money and for the rest deal with it we not bothered. Real shame. I am starting to love Virtual DJ and with free version of serato pro when you buy a big hardware i may simply go for ME which is much better then they realize when people do so and loose the sale of serato video.

M.E. is def the way to go they have optimized that program so well that it can run on a low spec MacBook Air. Serato Video uses way too much cpu they didn’t optimize it well enough they just haven’t cared to fix it. But M.E. Is a lot to learn it’s def loaded with features but not as simple as SV.

Yes I heared. I may just give up on Serato as you can see they are not even bothered to reply, and as I mentioned, I am starting to love Virtual DJ. if this is the way they treat us than be it. Who cares what software when you can deliver the same job?

Damn I just noticed VDJ does black bar blurring - that was the one thing that had me worried when my MacBook Pro dies.. does just as well as ME a this point.

Virtual DJ always been top notch and software of the year. especially with the latest version 20 21 allowing stem to remove either accapella or instrumental great job they did. and also it has a lot to offer to what serato does. I have a full payed version and lately been using it as it's stable.

Yup esp when it doesn’t even function on Catalina from what I’ve heard. It needs a fresh code all the did was piggyback of VSL’s success which ran quite smooth.

I used to be able to play mp4's files on my MacBook Pro when I play files all I hear is sound.
The mp4's work off of my external drive. The files used to play which was on my computer with perfect video and sound. What happen do I have a conflict or something needs to be fixed or installed? I am running OS Big Sur off of 2015 MacBook Pro.

Try increasing the video buffer size.

Wow. I’m glad I read this thread before pulling the trigger and paying the $99. I’m running an older but still pretty functional asus rog 24gb of ram & i7 4 core 2.6ghz. GeForce 980m. Serato works fine on it for DJing audio.
I tried it in demo mode, and it was crap. I tried downloading handbrake and doing all that bs to convert file types, and it was still really laggy. They really neglected the windows development for this badly. So I downloaded virtual DJ and it works perfectly. Albeit, a less precise time code etc, for the way I mix, it’s not as big of an issue. I guess I’m learning vdj now.

Don't fret, it's sucky on macOS too :) but yes VDJ runs circles around it.

The whole handbrake thing was semi useful in the early 2010s when people had crazy sources for their videos. Nowadays with video pools there's no reason to waste time on that.

Maybe I should move to VDJ because Serato haven't been doing anything for the last 5 years on the Serato Video which they sold to people with no support at all.

I wouldn't go for anything less than an Asus g15. it's got the right GPU (RTX 3070) and also the right intel version. I bought it once from a chap from www.crosslink.ae and Serato worked without any lags.
