Looking for some help.

I have a Numark mixtrack platinum connected to a windows 10 PC.
I am using a 3.5 jack spliter into line in. One from the master on the controller and one from the pc speakers.

I am using audiocity and the quality is terrible when try to record.
Quality directly from the speakers is good but the recording is terrible.

I troubleshot the laptop recording and no issues were found.
I also tried RCA spliters taking one into the line in and one into the speakers directly same problem.

I know I can record using Pro version but I do not want to upgrade in case it is my laptop and I don't believe the record function is available on the trial version.

Any ideas?
