** Been seeing some quick freezing (no longer than 5-6 seconds) without audio dropout. Not sure why this happens due to the specs of the laptop, didn’t think id see any issues at all.**
ANY TIPS, TRICKS, ANYTHING AT ALL, that you guys might have some solid info on would be greatly appreciated !

how hot are you running? is the i9 throttling itself when those freezes happen?

Did you do the light sensor optimization?

That should be the -only- optimization those i9s need, lol.

Assuming he has done the standard Serato Optimization for Mac

Its the GUI not your specs however maybe a clean install of the OS would solve it. Try SDJ 2.0.5. The new update is glitchy.

not sure but while I'm working on serato it does get pretty hot. i honestly don't think its throttling

I have the mid 17 mbp with touchbar. I noticed GUI waveform stuttering especially in a disco environment. So disabling the sensor as per Serato recommendation helped.

The keyboard lighting is also connected to the light sensor, so decheck that as well in settings, and deactivate the app nap in programs / Serato also

Did you ever get things working? I have the same issue and on a 2019 MBP pretty much spec'd out to the max as well. This happens a 2 or 3 times a gig. No audio dropout but Serato totally freezes on me (waveforms, GUI, everything) for about 3 seconds and kicks back in. This seems to only have started since the SDJ 2.2 update and 2.2.1 hadn't resolved anything for me.

It’s sounding like 2.2 has been pretty buggy for folks. I will try the previous version this week and make sure my display freezing issues are strictly SDJ and not coincidentally timed other Mac OS update or failure happening.

I’m on 2.1.2 spinning video every weekend on Sierra OS. Seems a lot of issues are occurring w/Mojave OS from what I’ve read then again it may be Touchbar Mac users i completely avoided those laptops for good reason. Not all are having issues though. 2.2 waveforms w/video are laggy so I went back to 2.1.2 and been solid since. 2.2 is nothing special just new hardware support and no actual bug fixes.

To be precise you shouldn’t have to optimize a 2019 Mac lol. Should be a tank as it is. Maybe a fresh install of Mojave would sort it.

Wiped and reinstalled Mojave, all clean installs of Serato and drivers (actually installed Serato 2.3 beta to make sure the Rane 12 fixes were in place and ruled out that being source of problems).... Same exact behavior happened first gig in. Freeze ups of Serato GUI entirely throughout the night for 3-4 seconds with no audio issues. So I don't know, led to believe these 2019 MacBooks and some later Mojave update screwed things up. Pain in the ass, support ticket going to have to be next with fingers crossed.
If anyone seeing this has experienced and had things resolved, would love to hear the feedback and info!

Are you guys using an external hard drive? If the drive goes to sleep it and needs to wake up you will get that few second lag.
Also, having the light sensor on can make it pause for a second or so when a bright light hits the sensor.

I had the same issue when I hooked up to my computer thru a USB hub. Got a USB-C cable and plugged directly into my computer & has been working fine since.
