i want to disable play count on serato dj pro 2.2, i don't need it and writting the mp3 tags so often it could raise the risk of corrupted files

You can simply hide the column ...and I don't think the play count is stored on the mp3 tags

unfortunatelly every time you play a song serato will write on the mp3 tag

That's kind of a bogus claim, writing tags doesn't corrupt anything unless the software is bad.

Hi fulgerik,
Play Count will always be written to the file, but there isn't any more risk of it corrupting your files than setting a cue point or any other action which writes to the ID3 tag of the file :)
Cheers,
Michael.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HIDE THE WRITING MSG. IN THE MIDS OF DJING ITS JUST SCARY TO ALWAYS SEEING THAT ORANGE LINE WITH THE MSG.

I asked this same question in my own thread relating to practicing. When I practice or listen through new tracks I don't want to get the counter counting. Otherwise it looks like you already "played" the new tracks which is not the case.
Writing the count in the tags is nice if you use also other software which can read this tag but I find it also a bit scary that serato is writing into files during a session/gig.

Today I am "on remote" just listening to new tracks in offline modus and even now the play count is increasing ... This surely is not logical is it?
I think Serato has to think this over and let the DJ decide when to count and when not ...

It's a tag, you just highlight the ones you want to reset and put a 0 in the play field.

Thx for the input but that's to reset the counts completely to zero. If you want to reset a "training session" you have to subtract "1" from each song??? Or maybe more than one depending on what you were doing with the songs??. Like I said: they had to think this trough a lot more. It's been a question from the community for years and this is the result??? Why not ask the community for input on how to implement this?

The day we all waited for :-)
The wait was long but not lonely (all you guys wanted the same) but finally it's here. Now a tool to find in which crates a song resides and we're almost there :-)
Unless it's not stable off course ... I read in another thread that there are issues with this upgrade concerning stability and vibrating waveforms ...
