Hey guys,

I just purchased Ableton Live vr. 5, and I already have the Serato breakout box, but my question is when i use Ableton as a stand alone to dj with, am I to use a simple minijack to RCA on the onboard sound card, or can i output the signal through the firewire breakout box Serato has? I just ask cause i hear of problems with humming when you dj off of simple on board sound card. I dont want hum, so is there a way to send the signal over a firewire cable through the breakout box, or am I stuck with the Minijack to RCA?

No Midi control attached either. Basically laptop to Mixer or Laptop to breakout box to mixer?

You can't use the Serato box to output Ableton. I use a second box, a Firebox. There are other, cheaper ways to do it. Using your built-in sound card is the cheapest but least desireable way.

Where can i get the firebox from?... are there ways to output the audio signal through the firewire or USB 2.0?

I really like mine. It's 6 in/8 out I believe. Firewire.

In the future Serato will probably release core audio drivers for the SL1 this will let you use the SL1 with ableton. No idea when this is likely to happen.
