After reading some other threads on here, do NOT buy the Core 2 Duo model MacBooks, you want at least an i5, preferably an i7 processor to be compatible. You can get a 2011 or later MBP with an i5 or i7 and probably be OK, especially if you upgrade to an SSD.

I have a mid-2010 MBP with Core Duo as a backup and it works just fine with High Sierra, Dj Pro and every new mixer and controller.

just my experience (shrugs)

with that said.. I will say get a 2012 or newer with i5,i7 processor only because the times will eventually catch up to you and the Core Duo will eventually work with nothing.
