PROBLEM WITH MIXARS DUO

TONYSUBK 3:04 PM - 24 June, 2018
Hi everybody,

i have an issue with my new MIXARS DUO.
I'm running with a OS X YOSEMITE version on my macbook and i already updated my serato to SERATO DJ PRO....I've used the mixer 2 times and both times meanwhile i'm playing, the sound have a bad distorce and i must restart the mixer, even if i do that, after 20/30 minutes i have the same issue.
I already tried home to let the mixer work with high volume, but sometimes the sound distorce sometimes not.

So what is wrong?
My macbook, the mixer have any problem?
Please help.

I was having this happen a bit with my 62 for a while and tracked it down to a bad cable. Might want to try a new cable if you haven’t already.

I talked today with the heardquarters in Italy and I was told that they have no technical support available now and I should go and exchange it with a new one in the shop as it's still under warranty, it's a soundcard issue.

I live In Jamaica and don't have that luxury of sending back. I don't think all the mixers are faulty, thinking its a software issue. Im using an older mid 2012 MBP

i Changed my OS to EL CAPITAN and it fixed the issue, so i'm not sure if the new OS is the issue here with any one else, but i know for sure that older OS is a problem....I was still running Maverics.....Didn't trust the others

Check your audio cables. XLR’s/RCA’s end up shorting out all the time they don’t last forever. Could very well not be the mixer at all esp if they are used cables from over time. However I was having audio distortion issues using SDJ Pro w/Yosemite using my DDJSR2. It randomly happened at a outside gig which also could of been due to high temp from the computer. I’m now on a fresh install of Sierra w/no issues at all. Figured I’d update my OS as Yosemite is very old. The specs of your computer could also be a cause. If your Mac is an old Intel core 2 duo those processors are long outdated and unsupported which would also cause audio problems. Cheers

Check your hardware. Make sure all the cords are in the right place and make sure you AMP is good to go

Hi Saleem, did you resolve this issue?

I'm having an issue with my Mixars Duo. There is a delay when I draw the record back slowly. It freezes until I either scratch fast or let it play. Please help.

hey people....I think i have found a contributing factor....I have tested it around 5 times....for macs, heating is an issue, after a few hrs of the charger plugged it it will start to hear up...the in creates a communication issue with the mixer, the hotter the environment, the quicker the problem persists, I tried cooling the laptop and no issue...

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Sounds like the version of SDJ Pro you were using was not compatible with the OS you had, always check compatibly before updating between hardware, software and OS. Glad you resolved your issue. Duo has been rock solid no issues for me using Mojave SDJ Pro version 2.3.3 on my 2012 MBP with 16GB ram and 2.5 i5
