Exporting Audio Out Of Sample Trial

Hi All,
I am mainly trying Sample for audio pitch and time. After editing the audio within Sample trial, how do you get it out? I've tried exporting its track as an MP3 as I would any other track in my DAW but I get no sound when I play it.
Also, is Sample supposed to sync up with my DAW's transport when I activate "start" or is it just supposed to play separately by pressing its own start?
This is the trial version and I am using Cubase 9.3. I know Cubase hasn't been officially tested with Sample but I need to know what it's supposed to do so I can compare notes with a tested DAW.
Thanks for your thoughts.

You'll need to put MIDI notes in your DAW that correspond to the Cues/Pads in Serato Sample, then once you've got all your chops laid out in MIDI, you can bounce it out using the usual Cubase export/render function.
The "Play" button in Serato Sample is independent of the DAW, and only plays what's loaded into Serato Sample at the time (not the DAW session). Pressing play in your DAW will not start Serato Sample playback, unless you've laid down MIDI notes in a piano roll to make a sequence.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the hit Scott S.
Basically, I'm just importing a full stereo song track and using Serato Sample to pitch it down or up.
So am I to understand that I need midi notes to control the functions of Serato? I guess I'll have to experiment to find out which midi notes control which pads in Sample.

Correct! Serato Sample needs MIDI to be triggered, to play the cues/pads/chops.
It starts at C#1. If you click on a Pad in Serato Sample you can look at the Pad #/MIDI information section (above the pads, to the right) to see which note needs to be triggered to play that pad.

Ok, after experimenting with the midi notes, I can see the pads respond to my keyboard starting at C1 and going chromatically up one octave. The problem is, they all play a small space "after" the sample when I trigger any one of them. The only way I can get the sample to play from the beginning is to click on the start button in Serato. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not too sure sorry, sounds like you might be missing some steps to setting up/playing chops correctly. If there is 'silence' or 'space' after you've triggered a cue you might need to either move the markers to create a tighter slice, or tweak the attack/release parameters to get what you want.

Ok, thx. I'll check out the tutorials.
I didn't actually record any midi notes into the track, I just used my midi keyboard controller to trigger the pads. I imagine that would be the same.

Ok, I think I have this. Are you referring to the vertical red lines as chops? If so, I wasn't understanding that terminology. All the notes/pads I was playing were connected to chops that were all at the end of the sample song. Thinking that might have been the case yesterday, I moved one to the beginning of the sample but I triggered every pad but the very one that was related to that chop. I was so close. lol
Thanks for hanging in there with me Scott S.

Yes sorry the correct terminology is 'Cues', to which you can extend the Cue length by dragging the bottom triangle out for the length you want the cue to play. Some people call them chops, some people call them slices, but for Serato Sample it's Cue :)

Sorry for the confusion!
