I got the Mac driver/firmware installed on my 2011 Macbook when it was still running Mavericks (now partitioned to Yosemite and Sierra) and never had a problem.

It's either you got the Winows version or it's not compatible with your OS.

I thought the VCI-400 did not need a driver when used with a Mac. It's a "Class Compliant Device".

It has a odd audio routing when it came out I believe. And that driver is the correction... or at least will let you use it as a standalone mixer.

I still have mine but burrowed by a friend so I cannot test for you.

But with compatible OS, those files within Serato were the ones I used on my units very last update.

Should be plug and play. I have never installed a driver for my 400, I did do a firmware update via a Vestax tool a while back. Do you have the Techtools version or standard? I am still running El Cap. Sounds like you got the wrong installer?

Ya I'm on el cap 10.11 what firmware do u have on your vci? Mines 2.0.3 serato DJ won't sync it'll say detecting but nothing happens?

Yes it shows up but stays at default to when turned on. How do view my firmware for my audio midi. Sorry I'm not a Mac person. My serato intro works but for some reason only one side works? Can't figure that out

Despite owning other higher end dj gear... VCI-400 still is my favorite travel buddy :)

It's rock solid, same as the 380!

Just out of curiosity I had to go out and by an ac adapter that was rated 600man 7.5v it'll power my controller but only one side would work. Could it be that its not the right amp to power it correctly or possibly a bad firmware?

Thanks that what I was thinking as well after reading the specs on the controller vs what the adapter I picked up. Ya I ordered on on amazon for $10 hopefully that will solve the problem.

Have you tried it on another computer? That's a basic troubleshooting technique. If it happens on a different laptop than more then likely its' a hardware problem.

Hi guys, im having a problem with my 400, all good when using software but when I tried to use "standalone" to connect my turntables, it doesn't work, there's no sounds. I tried to update the firmware on serato dj stand alone mixer but when i open the vestax updater and put my mac password nothings happened, i tried many times typing my password but it doesn't change into next step. Thats my problem. Please help! Thanks!!!

did you put it in develop mode? you hold the EFX 1 and 3 then turn it on

Were you able to get yours to work? I just bougth one off Ebay to replace my VCI 380. I can get the unit to play music but it won't load on Serato DJ. The VCI 400 will show up as connecting but thats it. I've also tried updating to V21 but it keeps saying error. Please help!

Have you tried signing on to Serato on the right? I too just bought one from Ebay, experienced the same problem, but remembered there was some kind of login before i used my Akai AMX.

Just want to chime in for an FYI...

The VCI-400 needs an SDJ License to work!

The 380 doesn’t.

Getting the serato license was a big help. Still having some issues with the left deck. Will only Cue / play when on the other deck. For example I can only cue play deck B when I’m on deck D and vise versa. Going to borrow a friends windows computer and see if I can get it to work.

Check the Platter sensitivity on the lower front side...

Copy the setting of the B/D side on the non working A/C.

Those small knobs can mess up the playback if not set properly.
