Hey just touching base with all DJs on available DJ Pools sources where you can download tracks more importantly (playlists/mixtape/ multiple track folders). Looking at more old school 90s - early 00s R&B/HipHip and 00-current Reggaeton/Latin vibes.
Thanks for any feedback 1Love!

If the files are original (mixes) than any record pool containing said files is not legal or not following copyright laws to say the least. Record pools were designed to be a distribution platform between record labels and music professionals who influence the public. For this reason by design this would only include new music. Music that these Record Pools are not supposed to database or archive then allow users access to said databases and archives. If there was a pool that offered all music from all genres and all decades why would there be any need to purchase music ever? Just food for thought. Many have the thought "well they were the one's who uploaded it, I just downloaded what they had" keep in mind this is exactly how ALL illegal downloads happen. Do I think the feds are going go come breaking in your doors? NO but just something to keep in mind. As music professionals we are quick to ensure revenue is reaching the original artist who created any given music and TRUST that it is the record pool alone who is profiting on actions such as these.

This is why all the legit pools (DJCity, Promo Only, etc.) do NOT offer music even a year old. They do archive the music for some time and you CAN get it but you are required to pay for the entire month of the release you are looking for.

But by the very nature of what a Pool is "supposed" to be - paying for Promo Only back content crosses the legality fence to a certain degree - no??? : )

I am just giving deejdave a hard time BUT he does make a point, the purpose of a "Record" Pool was supposed to be to promote new music and provide feedback and/or easy distribution for labels,

Also Serato and Macs should "JUST WORK" flawlessly BUT that shit don't happen anymore either.

I think Promo Only started as a "subscription service" that was blessed by the labels and (many years) later added a Pool type service to compete with YOUR definition of illegal pools.

The whole concept of "Pools" started in the late 70's and does need to be refined to modern standards. Because of the digital age - many pools do offer [some] older content as a BONUS to attract and retain customers and compete against each other while offering and emphasizing the NEW music. Some of these pools were around in the vinyl days and transitioned over to digital and already had the content (CDs) from when they started in the 80's and 90's.

As mentioned above www.latenightrecordpool.com has old school offering that blows many other pools away as well as new trendy stuff from all genres.

One of my favorite pools www.idjpool.com for example has a classics section that contains over 2000 Christmas tracks and 40+ New Years Eve tracks AS A BONUS to the DJs who pay for the monthly service of NEW MUSIC including almost everything charting on the various Billboard Charts and Americas Music Charts (including Latin). They also have a classics section with some hits going all the way back to the 1950s and 60's, again as a bonus.

Well promo only is still sub style but it is not as much of a competition thing as much as there is no other way to distribute digitally that makes sense.

Furthermore that is not what I meant regarding promo only. You can not pay for archived music. What you can do though is access music you previously purchased (at the time) via an archive style layout. In other words as long as you payed for May 2012 you can access it. If you did not pay for it you can not just purchase it now. They only offer that with music videos......... being there is a grey area there that I believe xtendamix is getting involved with the new prototype distribution.

Promo only still offers physical disc (sub) to this day as well as digital pool (literally called pool "Promo Only On Line" style for digital MP3 or lossless.
