That processor is not supported from 1.8.0 so they will no longer test with them. Download 1.7.8 for best performance or stick to any version you know works good. Only i5 and i7 processors are supported.

This processor is okay but only Scratchlive. SDJ is no longer supporting Core 2 Duo's. You need something from the generation like an iprocessor (i3, i5, i7)

No corrupt files tracks, I did not reanalyze tracks but they were all analyzed in 1.9.1. Could re-analyzing them actually help? Was hoping not to have to since my library is so large it takes quite awhile.

Not positive. But that's def not normal on a 2015 MacBook Pro although it could be El Capitan causing Serato problems.

agreed, Never had this problem with 1.9.1 which is what is odd. Pretty much ran flawlessly on El Captain certainly never anything like that. I was mixing for about an hour before it happened. Not even doing anything all that crazy just 3 decks goin. CPU was only about 5%.

I have thought about trying to install Yosemite but since my macbook came with El Captain it isn't an easy option. Plus really don't want to have to wipe my harddrive and transfer all my files back again.

I opened a support ticket with Serato and sent them my system report. I was running 10.11.4 at the time of the crash, so I updated to 10.11.6 to see if that may help resolve the issue.

I have not even updated to El Capitan with my 2014 Mac and for that very reason you mentioned. Sure other users are having great results but I'm not anxious to test it all. SL3 and S9 are working well with Yosemite. I'm waiting to see other results with 1.9.2 and El Capitan.

You may be correct, I assumed the OP had used 1.9.1 previously with no issue. If that is the case then it may not necessarily be due to an old laptop and 1.9.2 could have other factors causing the problems seeing as the system requirements are the same.

Wonder if that may be what caused my freeze, it is possible I had a 4th track going in the background unnoticed. Didn't notice any spike in the CPU but I got my fingers crossed for a quick fix.

Also don't forget ...... 10.7 Lion is no longer supported either. That's way too far back to update SDJ

I've got an S9 mixer too and I had a total freeze up with 1.9.2. Running a MBP mid 2012 i7 2.9gHZ 16GB Ram Yosemite. Playing off 2 x 1210's.

Also my mixer totally shut down and could not power it on for about 10mins. When it finally powered up a bunch of my crates, but not all of them, were showing that the tracks could not be located (?). And I had to reanalyse a bunch of random crates. Then my left deck began to slow right down and lost the signal completely, having to finish my gig off the right deck playing instant doubles.

All in all, an absolute train wreck of a set. All was fine when I tested the update at home.

Back to 1.9.1 it is.

Totally disagree, running 1.9.2 should work on a mid 2015 macbook even if it is running El Captain. Especially considering that 1.9.1 ran fine on the same system. Since the update I have had multiple freezes.

after the upgrade I played a 6 hours set with no issues on SL4 with Pioneer Mixer 900 Nexus
and 2 CD players Pioneer 900 Nexus with serato control cds
on the second night & on the same system I faced 4 drops on the left deck while trying to load a track on the right deck,
the glitch / drop will last 1 or 1.5 second with also the wheel freeze at the same time in parallel,
I never had an issue before like that with all previous versions of Serato Dj or even with SSL

no bad files coz I'm very picky about my library,

I'm running on a Windows 7 elitebook i7 quad 2010 model with no hiccups....djm s9 with plx 1000's. Never had a problem with this setup since 1.8. This is with all expansion packs and PnT enabled with every version. Granted it's a stripped down computer with no bloat ware and strictly used for Serato DJ. However I know many people have experienced problems with MacBooks and Windows so go figure. Oh and 1.92 has brought back smoother waveforms for me and I only a a nvidia 512mb video card.

The morale of the story is that there are so many variables like user errors, os configurations etc, etc. that many of us will have different results and your mileage will vary.

I was like the majority on the forum that a MacBook was the way to go and if you choose otherwise you were taking a risk. However once I got my hands on a cheap Windows computer intended to serve as a backup to my 2014 15inch MacBook Pro and realized that after proper optimizations, my Windows computer performed on the same level of not better than my $2000.00 MacBook Pro.

The only area where I concur with the consensus on the forum is that if you spin video, without a doubt Mac is the way to go. This is from testing several Windows computers over my career like top end a dedicated Dell Alienware with 4gb video card(gtx 970m) and I couldn't go long without experiencing issues with SDJ.

Go figure.

No. I was just explaining what had occurred. Maybe it was something to do with the firmware compatibility on my DJM S9. I was running an older version and have since updated. If that answers 'your' question ;)

I having issues with my serato I give up on serato I am just going to stick on spinnin on CDs on my 900 nexus and use vynl when I am at stationary spot don't have time to feel like I am a member of the geek squad to trouble shoot computer issues I am Dj not a computer technician

Its crazy to explain to someone at a wedding that my sersto froze cause of a bad file or out dated fimeware or outdated serato soft ware. At least when I burn cds I burn doubles that way if I run into a problem I can just continue without people realizing I ran into an issue you can't do that with serato once your computer freezes your toast.

stop using corrupt files .
This will make any software crash ,drop out. laptop freeze .
So take the time and delete all your music files and start again with new music files and this will stop all drop outs crashing, freezing.
Trust me it does work!!!!!

If you are using these on cdj in the form of cd .they will play ok as the cdj are just a cd player.
I have been djing for many years and i started on turntables so i know how to mix.
