A lot of the new controllers have fairly decent microphone preamps, and Serato DJ has an option (in the mixer setup screen) to adjust the microphone gain. In addition, it sure would be nice to have a "compressor" option there as well, and eliminate (for mobile DJ's) another outboard piece of hardware you have to drag around.
