If you are looking at brand new macs iMac/MacBook Pro you're going to want to go with the 27" iMacs only as they have dedicated graphics cards and quad core processors and as for a MacBook Pro you're only option is the top spec 15" rMBP as that is the only one with a dedicated graphics card as well ... You can get used/refurbished machines as well but make sure they are 2012 or newer with a dedicated graphics card as well ... The adapters are simple for either a VGA or HDMI output and just use a mini display/thunderbolt to VGA/HDMI connection

For software Serato DJ with the Club Kit for your 900 Nexus and for video playback use MixEmergency (www.inklen.com) which is a third party program but is also the most stable and feature rich option

BABY BOY THANK U . .
AND WHAT about serato dj? and the serato hardware
DJ Baby Boy 1:50 AM - 17 May, 2016
For Serato DJ you will have to purchase the Club Kit expansion to be able to use the 900 Nexus (store.serato.com)
rjcabo 1:53 AM - 17 May, 2016

No Serato Video that is where MixEmergency comes into play as that is a better alternative for serato video (www.inklen.com) and with the Club Kit you will not need a Serato Box as Serato DJ will use the sound card in the 900 nexus to "unlock" Serato DJ's full functionality
rjcabo 2:10 AM - 17 May, 2016
ah ok,, still confused how if i use mix emergency how that will work with djm nexus and teh cdjs nexus ...
DJ Baby Boy 2:12 AM - 17 May, 2016
MixEmergency is only for video playback that is all no audio whatsoever it is used along with Serato DJ instead of Serato Video

What most of them say, but I'd suggest to stick with Serato Video if you're just new to it.
Less complicated in my opinion. You already have a good setup, you just need a MacBook Pro w/dedicated graphics, Club Kit, and Serato Video.. but for a few extra bucks, you might as well get the full suite. I got lucky and got the full suite for half the price during their sale last year. I'm sure they'll do it again during holiday season. GL!

POWERED USB hub

DJM900 to the Mac directly via USB

CDJs connected to powered USB Hub

You can use the CDJs in HID mode

Launch Mix Emergency and select Serato as the video source.

Load a video file into your normal Serato deck and mix as you would.

Don't use the Serato video plug in.

Even though it's a brand new machine without a dedicated graphics card you're more than likely gonna run into issues while running video

Integrated graphics are a struggle with SDJ. Scratchlive would prob be fine for video mixing (less CPU) the best Mac is a "15 MBP with NVIDEA card. You are gambling with integrated graphics. For example I can run my Serato video at "Best" output setting cause it's a 2014 MBP with 16 gigs ram, NVIDEA card. With that laptop you may be able to run video at Medium quality or possibly "High" but that's really a stretch. You pretty much have a low grade machine for video use.
popnwave 3:31 PM - 4 August, 2016
Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 on on par with a dedicated 2012 MBP gfx.

If you have issues with smooth playback using Serato Video you'll need to invest in Mix Emergency which will do a much better job with the Intel chip set.
