D = Double

It's the amount of quarter notes per beat/bar.
Most music we listen too is 4/4 timing.
1-2-3-4 | 1-2-3-4 | 1-2-3-4 | 1-2-3-4
Think of triplet like a Waltz beat,
1-2-3 | 1-2-3 | 1-2-3 | 1-2-3
Now, take that 1-2-3 timing, and apply it to 4/4 measure. In terms of the effects, like the delays/echos in particular, this gives a kinda of "shuffled" sound. Kind of makes it sound off beat, but not. I know, hard to explain.

Thanks. I guess the easy thing is to apply the effect and see how it sounds lol.
