Yes the Numark NS6 is supported in Serato DJ - although if you are using OS X El Capitan you will need to download the latest BETA driver.

@toston76 - Yes it is compatible with OS X El Capitan, 10.11.3 included :)

@kp2k12 - Sorry no update for retina or UHD displays in this specific version (we're still working on it!). The current workaround is to scale the DPI and resolution independently to reach a size that is comfortable for use with Serato DJ. I found boosting the DPI up to around 250%-300% works quite well with newer UHD windows computers (Acer, Dell etc).

There was an issue with Pioneer hardware not connecting to Serato DJ using the OS X 10.11.4 BETA - if you weren't using the 10.11.4 BETA then you probably did not notice this. We have resolved the issue, and the fix is included with Serato DJ 1.8.2. We don't usually support OS X versions that are in a BETA state, but for this one it seemed to be tripping up quite a lot of users who had already updated!


Hi Mr Goodkat, if you are on 10.11.3 I would suggest holding off until 10.11.4 is in it's general release state. It is currently still in the BETA stage.

It will depend on your operating system. There are no available drivers for the Rane devices to be compatible with OS X El Capitan just yet, so you won't be able to use a Sixty-Two on OS X El Capitan - but everything should work fine with that mixer and Serato DJ using a previous OS. It is still a supported device on OS X 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10.

I agree 100% on this or be able to access autoscan folder function compatibility BPM match for Music currently playing on your decks.
I know this feature exist with VDJ software giving reccomendations of compatibile songs from their search engine would be a cool feature in addition to the El Captain.

They're not updating the 57sl. Only mixers with USB 2.0 on them.

I had SL1 than SL2 and I was so happy with that- because it was stable an I had no issues in the club partying all night long.. But now, with all this seraro DJ Stuff, I had so many freezes- specially with my sixty two! And that sucks!! That's the worst thing it could happend!! I guess the problem is, that Serato would like to hook up with traktor..but that doesn't work! Native is such a big ass company with tons of cash..so please- just leave it, like it was! I would love to have just a normal Scratch live, like it was for the latest El Capitan update!

I've got an SL3 at home and the Sixty-Two in the studio. I had to update on el capitan because it was necessary for my work! Since there I couldn't sound with my mac!! I could't even plug it in, that it freezes! So now, the update is out since when? Almost 8 months? Every 2 weeks there is an update, for some new DJ-Crap, Pioneer there, numark there.. I'm allways there and hope, that the rane products will be supported.. And you're still not able to MAKE DRIVERS for YOUR OWN Product??

That Pitch Play is such a cool feature and should be implemented to all SDJ controllers. If you then also add the possibility to play SP6 samples with keyshifting I think we have a winner here and something that separates SDJ from other DJ software as well as challenges NI Stems.

Absolutely agreeing on the SL issue! What about new drivers for the SL4 with El Capitan!?!? This expensive and quite recent device seems to not be supported any further soon after his release!?! Experiencing loads of instabilities since the introduction of Serato Dj, mates! And this although I am using all the possible arrangements including DDJ-SZ, DJM 900nxs, club kit etc.!! Playing in venues all across Europe makes me get quite nervous now, as I'm never completely sure of what Technical issues I'm about to be confronted with! Always have to bring the latest firmwares with me and to take time to upgrade equipment (always the highest standard on the market!)... Things are getting weird, folks!

I know it's frustrating for Rane users to not see driver updates. Here's the latest...

The Mac OS X 10.4.11 update has resolved some issues with asynchronous audio that were holding back driver development. Now these are resolved - they can continue to work on support and we should have driver updates for full El Capitan compatibility very soon :)

Hi legion of doom dj's, The NS7 is supported in Serato DJ 1.8.2, and has BETA drivers available on the Numark website if you are running OS X El Capitan. It is suggested you run the latest driver available.


We only make the Serato software here - hardware drivers for Rane devices are provided by Rane themselves. Hopefully they will be available soon! :)


We would love to include Pitch Play for all pad controllers in the future - however as of Serato DJ 1.8.2 it is only available with the Denon DJ MCX8000.

Hi DJ--EndLess, Pulselocker is not available in the Serato DJ 1.8.2 update. The 1.8.2 release supports 2 new pieces of hardware along with quite a few bug fixes. Pulselocker is currently only avaialbe in the 1.9.0 public beta. Remember that it is still in the beta stage, so it's not advisable to use in a club or performance environment. Well I Guess Its Just Me Or Serato didn’t Notice the jumpy/jettery waveform since 1.8 same thing in 1.8.1 and same in 1.8.2 well i guess Back to 1.7.8 again for me. 1.7.8 just move so smooth.

It's not you I'm running a 2014 MacBook Pro w/16 gig ram and the waveform is jittery still whether offline/online it doesn't matter I'm still on SSL for this reason. There's no way my computer could be causing the lag it's just the program itself💯 #scratchliveisbutter

If this update sorts out that issue with the 1000mk3s then theres going to be alot of happy Djs here in South Africa who wil be switching frm SSL to SDJ :)

I have tested latest Serato DJ 1.8.2 and Jogvision, headphone volume bug is already low.

This problem is present since first Serato DJ released with the Jogvision support, Hercules team already inform Serato team about this bug, also
my colleague Sasa DJ from DigitalJockey.it & DjForum.it admin team report the problem into Serato beta testing forum, so I can not believe that Serato team work so bad.

for those who want the time matching the display, just download the beta 1.9 activate it from there, then open serato 1.8.2 and magic is also activated there. I hope aid.

I am getting small audible dropouts when scrolling through the library on SDJ 1.8.2 on Macbook Yosemite Mid 2010, 2.4 GHz. 4 gb Ram.

The volume bar on the left deck goes down by its self only on the left deck it's really annoying I'm running a new macbook pro with El captain and I've updated the firmware

1.8.2 SUCKS!!! mixing audio for 30 minutes and DDJ-SX no longer allows auto loop. Switched to video, mixed two songs and Right Deck fails to produce video. Did not have these issues with 1.8.1 - Headed back now.

Im running 2 MACS
1- 2010 with Yosemite and Serato 1.8.2 and everything is working well with both mixers and the SP1.

2-2015 With El Capitan
S9 Serato effects has a small delay on em. Very noticeable when using Seratos Echo at 1/2 beat. I turn the switch and it pauses the song for shorter than a second and then echos out. In order to perfect it, I have to trigger the echo effect sooner. But you can still hear the pause.

Other than that, everything else is running smoothly with both mixer and SP1.

How do you get the vertical Key column to show? Im running 1.9 but can't see it

Hi Simon w40,

Right-click on the column bar (at the top) in the Serato DJ library and select "Key" from the drop down list. This will show the Key column, although it should be enabled by default.

Sometimes it might be the further-most right-hand side column in the library, so you will need to scroll over to the right to see it. You can drag and drop the column to reorder it if you wish.
