Yamaha DXS18 vs JBL PRX618S Help advice please!!

P-Diddy, Joee, dj sooo, Al or any one of you experience Guy's can someone help me make the correct discision here, I believe I found a buyer for my JBL set which is 2 PRX 615 AND A PRX 618S XLF 1000 Watt, I also have a pair of Yahmaha DRX12 and was thinking of getting a Yahmaha DXS18 1020W to go with it, can some one tell me if the Yahamaha DXS18 is a better sub than the JBL PRX, or should I keep this JBL 618 to go with the DRX12, my buyer should be here tomorrow, I just want to make sure I'm making the best choice, thank in advance hope your expertise helps.

From what I was told when I talked to a Yamaha rep, the DXS18 will absolutely destroy the PRX618s in output. The PRX6** series is pretty outdated--not to mention the fact it has overheating issues. My SRX818sp can only keep up with a single DXR15, and the SRX has more output than the PRX subs. Also, even if the DXS didn't have the output advantage over the XLF, the fact the DXS18 is designed crossover/phase-wise for the DXR would be enough to convince me to buy the DXS18 over keeping the XLF.

So I decide to wait till more reviews are out on the DXS18 before pulling the trigger, all the stores I call asking for one didn't have any in store, but willing to order me one if I wanted, choose to wait to at least possibly hear one before making that final decision

what i like about this sub it's a bandpass box it give you tight bass right now so on the dance floor you feel it right a way. a bass reflex sub dont give you that sound if your close . no clipping a lot of headroom with my dxr12. use also a DBX PA2 amazing for me . i hope that help .

Thank for the info are you in the US or out here in Canada, would like to hear what they sound like, I purchase my jbl blindly they did sound nice, but want to take a different approach with my next purchase, I'm happy with the dxr12 they sound nice so can imagine hearing them with the right sub.

Thank and cheers!
