Proposal to have the option to output Video to Decks 1&2 or 3&4

The clubs that I dj at have different house setups.. And plenty of times, I would spin w/another Video DJ.

I think enabling to let us choose video output 1&2 or 3&4 will give us the flexibility to have a more fluid transition between Video DJ's specially w/clubs that have multiple DVS setup like SL4 & DJM900 combination.

With the SL4, we're always stuck with Channels 1&2 in the mixer during the hand off, and I personally think it would be best to give us the option to enable Channel 3&4 video output to the 2nd DJ.

That way, each have independent channels on the mixer (which can be good for that tag team set). This will also let dj's have the option to spin with the technics or the cdj's, and vice versa, instead of both DJ's using the same decks.

I personally use the Club Kit on the 900NXS for the DVS and MIDI purposes, while the other uses the SL4.
With the DVS on the 900NXS, I'm forced to use channels 1&2 because of Serato Video output, while I have to reroute the cabling to set the cdj's/turntables to 3&4 for the other DJ.

If this is enabled, it would just make everything seamless. Just have it in the options menu, and I think alot of people will be satisfied with it!

tl;dr - DJ#1 can spin videos on Decks 1&2, and DJ#2 can spin videos on Decks 3&4 for a more flexible and seamless transition between the 2 Video DJ's.

I have hope that some day, maybe Inklen can pull it off to make such transitions easier. I doubt with the neglected SV project, we will see it directly from Serato any time soon. It will be a 3rd party to gets you there.

They have new controllers/decks to support, along with the Pulselocker addition that are highest priority. Maybe they will surprise us with a sneaky update like they did with the half-assed karaoke file support ;D

I know right! Well Luckily, there wasn't a whole lot of DJ related equipments during NAMM, so there's not much controllers they need to add. Rekordbox also made a deal w/PulseLocker, so I'm sure they want to 1up them.

SV needs some love because it's a paid content.
We paid for the plugin, so we deserve to get updates.

This might be asking for too much, but adding Social Media feed as an overlay, would be nice as well.


I guess we'll just find out and see how much support they'll provide for a PAID content.

I think the social media thing will always be a game of chase because the APIs for things like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are notoriously annoying for changing. It used to be a lot easier to share most of those things in 2010/11 and they have restricted a lot of that over time.

It is paid, and it provides basic video functionality. I think some of the lingering bugs people complain about should be squashed and maybe they could move forward. But for now it's just users helping users and folks who have jumped to MixEmergency.

That is very true.. unless we can find a way to use the same version of the program (ie; twitter app for mac), it would be hard to call out the API's if it keeps getting updated everytime.

Might have to use a separate program for it like camtwist or OBS, or something, but that would mean it would have to screen grab the video and layer the feed over. similar how syphon works (i think), and that would also use up resources.

Back to main subject, I do hope that they fix up a few of the quirks w/SV.. coz if not, I would most likely be forced to use ME. And I'm sure alot of people would do the same if SV is not the support that we wanted. =/
