Hi guys. I have a 2011 mac book pro with ddj sz. My monitors (alesis monitor 1 mk2s active) are connected to the sz via xlr but can also take trs.

I'm about to buy a pioneer rmx 500 which, with no send and return, has to go on the master output.

I will also want to take the output from the rmx and record it back into the mbp.

Can I connect the speakers direct to the rmx, or will I need a small pre amp mixer or amp?

The output from rmx will connect directly to your active speakers without amp.

However, as there is only 1 output from rmx you will have to find some way of getting 2 signals if you also want to also record on mbp.

Just curious what the rmx500 can do that the internal effects and outboard effects can't on the Sz.

If it had dedicated send/returns I could see maybe using an external effects unit...
