Serato Doubling all my music HELP

Hi Everyone,
So I keep my music on a external HD, I use a mac and my music is organized in iTunes, But when I open Serato It has started reading two Libraries on my mac and doubling the songs inside Serato. If I choose the wrong song during the performance it can crash the program.
The only way to fix it is by totally deleting Serato and all files related, and reinstalling.
Please any help would be great!

Hi
Have you tried pressing Analyze Files?
Do they turn orange when you select one that can't be played?

Yes. Analyze files does nothing, I think I does turn orange, if I search for a song it brings up double the amount of options. Ones that have a little iTunes pic next to it and ones that don't,l.
The ones with the iTunes pic work and th Others don't. It says file cannot be found if I try to load it onto the deck.

Okay
Do you organise purely from itunes or do you have files that have been added via serato?
If you only use itunes to sort your files then you basically need to delete any files that have no itunes logo in the first column.
In the bar that contains aong, artist, time, etc, If you press above the top of the where the itunes symbol is, it will sort the files in to order. So all of the files that are referenced via itunes will be together and the ones that aren't will be too. It basically sorts them for you.
Select all the files that have no itunes logo and press cmd-delete. (or ctrl-delete).
This will delete the references to these files but all files are available via your itunes library will be fine.
Do all the usual back ups of your serato folders to be on the safe side.
Hope this helps

I, too, have this problem. My guess is, like me, you have multiple serato libraries going on. Serato ended up creating three libraries on my computer, one in the Music directory where iTunes normally stores music and one where I moved my iTunes music to, plus a third in my root for some reason. Delete the library in your old, OS default location (eg User > Music on OS X) and Serato will be nice and tidy. One thing, though, your history and crates may be stored in the unwanted location so here's what I'd do:
1. Backup the library you want to delete.
2. Delete/Rename it.
3. Open SDJ and see if it fixed your problem. Did it maintain your crates and preferences and history etc? If so, you're done. if not then...
4. Open the backed up library folder from step 1 and copy over the necessary folders (History, Subcrates etc).

Here's the reply I got, which explains how SDJ handles external drives and multiple _Serato folders:
Serato will always have a _Serato folder on any computer that the Serato program is installed on. It will then create a _Serato folder on any storage source that Serato is sourcing music from. In your case its the External Drive.
When it comes to crates, we usually recommend customers only have crates with music from a single source i.e. all music in that crate from only the external or only the internal HDD. This is because the crates will be stored on the corresponding drive that the music is sourced from.
If your crate has music from two different sources it will then create a conflict when loading up the crates and your track lists can come out of order or worse tracks go missing every time you reconnect and disconnect the external hdd.
In your case, you can transfer all your music over to an external HDD and all your crates that you create will be on the external HDD. You will not have to worry about the _Serato folder on your computer as all your crate information is stored on the external. So a benefit of this is also that if you were to take your external onto another computer its a simple plug and play.
Hope this explains things a bit better for you. Feel free to get back in touch if you have any other queries
