Question on this white label release.

atarirec 3:45 AM - 6 April, 2015
Greetings.

I acquired this particular white label 12", and after doing some thorough research on the web (including Discogs), I was still unable to determine what it is.

Here's what I have pertaining to this release:

Two tracks per side (4 different tracks total). No information/writing on the white labels.
Side A matrix/runout etching: DF 001-A CHICAGO, IL
Side B matrix/runout etching: DF 001-B CHICAGO B JACKIN'

I'm thinking this was released between 1998 and 2005, based on the style... which is house (more so, tech house).

Many thanks for your assistance!

Looks like the white label you picked up with the DF 001-A and DF 001-B etchings is likely part of an underground Chicago house/tech house pressing, often circulated without official credits or artwork, which makes identifying them tricky even on platforms like Discogs. Based on the “CHICAGO B JACKIN’” marking and the sound you described, it’s probably from the late 90s to early 2000s era when jackin’ house white labels were common among DJs. Unfortunately, unless someone who owns or pressed it recognizes the tracks, it may remain an obscure gem—similar to how niche resources like Local Business 101 localbusiness101.com

Sounds like you’ve got an obscure white label 12" that might have been pressed in Chicago, given the “DF 001-A CHICAGO, IL” and “DF 001-B CHICAGO B JACKIN’” runout etchings, which strongly suggest a local underground house or tech house release, likely around the late ’90s to early 2000s when many small independent labels and DJs were putting out limited runs without proper credits; sometimes these records never make it onto Discogs, so the best way to identify is by sharing audio clips in dedicated house/tech house forums or Facebook groups where collectors specialize in white labels—similar to how niche sites catalog things like menus, for example this link on Boost Juice prices (menuswithpricesinaustralia.com
), but for records, only a small community keeps those archives alive.
