in order to use Serato scratch live, you HAVE to own the Rane hardware, the stanton hardware will not work with Serato

i have been told that Final scratch works with any software i just need to know how to configure my serato to use my firewire cardbus instead of the usb 2.0 that serato usually uses ?

No, that is not true, otherwise Serato would lose money, their software is free, its the hardware you are paying for more or less. You can probably use it for other software like PCDJ and crap lie that, not SSL though

the configurations in which software? and to do what?
You will not be able to configure anything with serato to work with the Stanton box if that's what you mean. I hope the dealer didn't tell you that when they sold it to you.
Open interface means that software can write their software to work with the Stanton box. Serato won't do that because scratch live is written for ONLY the Rane hardware )SL-1,3, MP4, and the ttm57)

I'm afraid Scratch Live only works with Rane hardware, there is no way you will get it to work with anything else. I can't think of anyone at Serato who would say it would work...
