i still don't understand why this feature is necessary.

takes .5 second to load a track and another 2 seconds to scrub through it to see if it fits.

Pre Listening - isn't that feature called Four Decks?

At least three........... EXACTLY!! I try not to make it seem like this feature would bother me iof it were there. IT WOUDN'T. I simply would NOT use it is all BUT I feel like the time spent on the development & coding of this feature could be spent on something of more use is all.

As a recent convert - and someone using an AMX - I'm not sure how a pre listen feature could even work - as there is no "cue" button to route the "pre listen" to the headphones...

The only time I have wanted a feature like that (back in the old days) was if I had cue points set up on the TT or CDs and I wanted to hear a 3rd track.....
I managed to survive :)

Now a days, I can lock the cue point to the file, unload it, load the pre listen track, unload it and reload back to the cue point - so yeah - I don't see the need.

If I really needed it, I'd probably have an SL4 box up and running - i.e. 4 desks
