Analysing files in Serato DJ 1.7.1, pause seemingly not working

hi all - not sure what files of mine are analysed and which are not, so am trying to analyse them all again (in serato DJ, so as to have the beat grid set) . I appreciate this can be way too many MP3s but even doing them bit by bit I get the same problems.

According to Serato's official instructions (here serato.com) -

"How to Analyze Files

To analyze files you will need to run your Serato software in offline mode (with the USB cable disconnected from your hardware). Click the Analyze Files button to start the analysis of all the music that has been added to your Serato library.
Each time you use the analyze files function, Serato software will only analyze files that have not previously been analyzed.
Note: If the software starts analyzing files which have been analyzed previously, stop the process by clicking the Analyze Files button again. Next, click the Rescan ID3 Tags button found within the Files panel and allow it to finish. This will ensure that only non-analyzed files get processed. You can now start the analyzing process again."

so it says here each time it will only analyse files not already analysed but for me this is not the case. If I just click analyse (without dragging selected songs) it will always try to analyse the same number of songs (entire library)...doesnt matter if I just analysed 3 of this amount or 3000...it starts from the beginning so I can never finish.
I'm getting the same thing if I just try to analyse one (itunes) playlist of a selection of my songs only, not all.

The instructions above do state that if it's not starting from where it left off to "click the Rescan ID3 Tags button found within the Files panel and allow it to finish" but I dont seem to have this option (using Serato DJ 1.7.1). The only files panel I can see is to the right of the BPM range above my track names but I see no rescan ID3 tags here. will be very grateful if someone can advise what could be the problem!

On another note, right now, despite having been able to drag tracks to the analyse button and initiate analysing earlier tonight, now nothing happens when I drag even one track there, I can't initiate the analysing anymore. This is probably just a tech issue so will try again when I can restart my laptop and advise if it still persists.

Thanks a lot.

(for the record I'm using a MBP iOS 10.8.5. I've analysed files thousands of times in standard serato without any problems in the past)

Jeez, I just opened old serato to see if I found the rescan ID3 tag button (knew I'd seen it somewhere before!) and located it no probs, and lo and behold now can find it on serato DJ, apolgies all who wasted two mins of their lives reading that!! Gonna update here though if I still get the problem after checking that box....
