no mention of turn tables just high fi self system, but what about audio files? they almost always have a turntable in those kinds of self system

might they eventually bring back another turntable? wasn't the sl1200 meant to but used as a audio file turntable when it first came out?

The SL-1200 MK2 wasn't an audiophile turntable. It wasn't even Technics top of the line model.

The version that the SL-1200 was based off of was the SL-1000 MK2 (which itself was based off of the SP-10 MK2). The 1200s were meant to be a more affordable version of the SL-1000 model. They were all still just consumer grade products.

No Technics turntables are/were considered to be 'audiophile-grade' by audiophiles themselves. But with significant modifications, 1200s can be 'near-audiophile' quality and quite worthy of honored place in a music lover's home.

Having said that, it's good to see Panasonic reviving the Technics name!
