I think the best way to used the crossfader, which isn't accurate whichever way you use it as it seems to need more perameters than it has. To get the best from it, have it on power and the knob on the front of the unit which adjusts the curve all the way round to the right . When mixing from A to B for example have the volume of B set at half or a bit less and to a dual thing with the crossfade and the B channel fader ..... it is the only way you can get those other perameters regarding fade that you need. Obviously it's a flaw that Pioneer have not delved deep enough in to.

You’re right that the Pioneer crossfader can feel limited since it lacks the extra parameters needed for more precise control, but your approach of setting it to power, turning the curve knob fully to the right, and balancing the B channel volume at around half while blending with both the crossfader and channel fader is a smart workaround to achieve smoother fades; it’s not perfect, but until Pioneer expands on its design, using creative techniques like this is the only way to simulate those missing adjustments—kind of like how online tools such as pileou-face.fr pileou-face.fr give you a simple solution for coin flips when you don’t have the physical option handy.
