I have analysed tracks which I downloaded from Beatport using the "Analyse Files" options and added CUE points. However one week later all the file information was gone, although I have not moved or renamed the mp3 file! This has happened more than once now. A few of the tracks are marked as corrupt (although they are original downloads?) but some of them are not marked as corrupt but still the software forgets information. How can I prevent the software from forgetting this information?

Hi papanoah,

Where are these files stored? internally or externally?

Are you ejecting the files upon editing them?

Can you upload one of the files you are having this problem with to this thread using the 'Attach a file" button.

Thanks

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your answer. The files are all stored internally (if by that you mean that they are stored on my internal hard drive and not on an external one). I don't eject files upon editing them (I don't know what that means or how to do that, I just turn off Serato normally when I finish playing). I have attached a file where this problem happens very often. Thanks in advance.

HI papanoah,

I've set the beatgrid to this file and 4 cue points. Its all saving like it should on my end. Check the file now that i've uploaded it.

Regarding ejecting tracks, if you quit the program before "saving the grid" or ejecting the track (See pic) the software doesn't have time to write to the track. If you are playing and edit a track and then load another track, its the same as ejecting it. I'm fairly conscientious about ejecting tracks as having to go back an edit again is a bit of a pain.

Hi Matt,

I downloaded the track and I am using it without a problem. Thanks for setting the beatgrid. But I dont really understand what you did different. How long do I need to wait until I load another track? Or how can I make sure that the software has time to write the track?

After analysing a track using the "analyse files" option. I load the track and everything seems fine (beat grid is there). But the next day when I load it, the beat grid is gone and there is a sign saying file is corrupt: "this file contains invalid audio data". What causes that? I purchased it online and didnt change the track.

HI papanoah,

I just edited that track and ejected it. There isn't any period of time you have to wait. I just would make sure to Eject it after you have edited it.

The program itself won't corrupt the file. What filetypes are you using other than mp3? Where did you download the track from?

I donwload the tracks mostly from beatport.com. Should I upload a track which I downloaded from beatport and is shown as corrupt on serato? Maybe you can look at it and let me know what the problem may be...

Hi papanoah,

Yes, please upload. I'll gladly have a look.

Often tracks can become corrupted if they are transferred incorrectly from external drives etc

Here are two tracks that have a sign saying that they contain invalid audio data. Both were purchased at beatport.com

Hi papanoah,

Both these files are corrupt. I'm not sure why this is the case if you bought them right from beatport, but I would definitely let them know. If possible try and download them again if you are able to.
