error: failed to connect midi device!

Hi,
i past my day to try to find a solution. i ll describe all the things i did.


- try with mac y and directly work with 1.5.2 software
- i have on my comp 1.5.2 serato DJ
- i have the last firmware 1.07
- i have the unique driver d/l from pionneer 1.000
- unistal and reinstall all the above stuff


two weeks ago it works and when i lunched it yesterday, i just say : error: failed to connect midi device!

- i try to install in other pc and i have the same problem but say "failed to connect to audio"

For me it is really important and necessary to use it.

Thanks for getting in touch with us.
When you connect your Serato DJ hardware to your Windows computer, your operating system may secure your hardware as the default soundcard for playback and recording in Windows. If this happens, Serato software will not be able to access your hardware's soundcard and therefore will not connect.


1. Close all applications

2. Navigate to Control Panel > Sound

3. Select your computer's internal soundcard or speakers as the default Playback device

4. Select your computer's internal soundcard or microphone as the default Recording device

5. Check the Communications tab to see if you need to set the internal soundcard as the default device. (this is not always necessary, as with some Windows versions there is no option to set a device in this tab)

6. Open your Serato software and try to connect your hardware once more
