I recently bought and started to use the Pioneer DDJ-SR for gigs. While I love the unit itself, I have been running into the performance issues from my computer while using Serato DJ.

After spending the last week and half cleaning up my computer, installing the new firmware, and adding programs to that disables background programs to booth performance, I found out after talking to Pioneer DJ customer service yesterday that my hardware does not meet the minimum requirements to running Serato DJ. My Intel processor is a Celeron running at 2.20 GHz on Windows 7 64 Bit OS.

But with that said, I have minus a couple very minor drop outs and the interface slowing up on me, I gotten Serato DJ to function decently. What are you tips on running my system to it's bare necessities with my current OS? I currently have the USB buffer size in the high 1400s, Bit interface at 16 bit instead of 24, and the Kernel Buffers at 4.

This will have to do because I will not be able to purchase a MAC for another month or two that meet the needed requirements and I do not like Virtual DJ's interface at all; nor do I have the time to deal with mapping it. Thank you very much in advance for you help!

Hi DJ Chuck "thE oLd SouL",

Thanks for get in touch with us. Sounds like you've done all of the optimisation process I was going to suggest. We still do not recommend you to do gigs with under spec computer. Maybe you can set maximum screen update per second option bit lower. It will reduce cpu usage however Serato DJ GUI will be not smooth.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards
Rui

DJ chuck,

Celeron processors are low end CPUs. Stay away from them!. Get an i5, or preferably an i7 CPU. If you will be doing video, get a machine that has a discrete video card, not just the default intel HD 4/3000
