When I turn on the echo effect and turn the knob to use the effect, the sound drops out for a second, and then it comes back on from where i started the effect and it continues to do this until the effect is shut off.

I can use the echo effect on my right deck just fine. This started happening as soon as I downloaded the new update.

HI DJTAH,

Can you try reproducing this bug with 1.5.1 - serato.com

I'd like to know if its specific to the new version 1.5.2

It's doing this with both 1.5.1 and 1.5.2

It's actually my delay effect that it's doing this with.
DJTAH 9:30 PM - 20 November, 2013
So far with the 1.5.2 upgrade, My controller stopped freezing up after 2 hours into my session. I did try 1.5.1 last night and 2 hours into the session, I lost all controls with the SR. It froze up and I had to turn off the power and turn it back on to reset it and to have the controller working again. So thank you guys for that fix.

So the delay effect issue happens on all 3 banks of the fx controls. Like I said earlier, when I turn on the effect, the song drops out first and then it will come back on from where I started the effect. It will continue to repeat the same spot and fade out slowly.

Giving you an update on my problem. I used 1.5.2 last night and at the end of my set my SR froze up again. Getting really frustrated. Please help?

I was transitioning from the right deck to the left deck. Had sync mode on, when I finished the transition I started to bring the track on the left deck from 120 bpms to 113 bpms. The controller froze up. I had to turn the power off and turn it back on. I was running video too. Let me know what other information you'll need from me?

Hi DJTAH,

It seems this problem has been linked to the drivers. There have been new drivers released by Pioneer available here - pioneerdj.com

This should solve this, if it doesn't please let me know.
If it does it would be nice to know too :)

Hey Matt,

This is what the site is saying when it comes to this driver:

Mac OS users:You don't have to install this driver software. Mac OS standard audio driver will be automatically installed when DDJ-SR is connected to your Mac with a USB cable.

The download is only for windows users.

I went ahead and updated the firmware. I can't find a download for mac when it comes to the drivers? I have a gig tonight and will let you know how the controller works.

Hi DJTAH,

My bad you won't need drivers for the DDJ SR but you have updated the firmware which is what i was meant to say (⊙_◎)

I am keen to know how the new firmware is going..

Matt,
The firmware upgrade did not help! My controller froze up twice on Saturday night. I've pin pointed what causes my controller to freeze up. Both times I was doing my own transition from 98 bpms to128 or vice versa. The controller is in sync mode. I'll start to bring the tempo up and in doing so the controller freezes. Both times it happened on the 2nd time that I had to press the shift button to move the tempo control back to give me more range to bring the track up to where I want to play it. This happened around the 2 hour mark, midway through my set and at the end. I was running videos too.

I also have upgraded my OS X to 10.8. Please let me know if you can re create this on your own, because it is getting really frustrating! Thanks

Hi DJTAH,

Thanks for your reply, i've just tested and can't reproduce the issue.

Are you finding this with certain songs? If so upload the songs you are having the problem with and i'll try and reproduce the bug.

It wasn't any song in particular. It's weird because last night I had a gig and the controller worked fine? I wasn't running videos. My CPU meter was only a 1/4 of the way over. I notice when I am running videos my CPU meter is almost at half. I'm guessing it's because my video card is only at 256mb? Even then, I don't have issues when I'm using the SX on my friday night gig? Everything runs smooth with the 1.5.2. I will keep on using the SR and hope that it doesn't continue to do this. I will keep you updated every time it happens. Meanwhile, please try and reproduce this bug? I know that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

Hi DJTAH,

Ahh, yeah 256mb is a little on the low side. I will keep an eye on this bug. If you can let me know if you have 2 graphics cards on your computer and that you have optimized them that would be good to try - serato.com

Is this only happening with videos though?

Matt P
DJTAH 3:23 AM - 6 December, 2013
I don't have that option to change my graphics. I'm using a 13" macbook late 2009 white uniboody model.

The problem happens without using video too. I use my SR on Wednesday night and I've had to shut it down because it froze up. Last Saturday was the first time that it froze up twice in a 2 hour period. What is puzzling, is when I'm using the SX on Fridays. My computer and the SX controller does fine. My CPU meter stays around the 1/4 mark while i'm running videos. I guess it's because the SX doesn't have it's own power source?

Hi DJTAH,

Can you try quitting Serato DJ and unplugging the DDJSR, going in to the Audio/Midi Setup and deleting the Pioneer DDJSR driver. Then Connecting the DDJSB again and then opening the Serato DJ program..

This will re install the Mac driver for you. Its possible you've got a corruption with the driver

Hi Matt,

That seems to have solved the issue! I DJ'd on Wednesday last week and had to shut down the controller 3 times. I wasn't running videos.
Then I followed your steps to remove the SR driver on Thursday after I got your last msg. DJ'd on Saturday with videos and the controller worked fine.

Except, now my key lock on the right deck turns off after a couple of songs? I'll still keep you updated on the freezing deal, if I it happens again.

As for the Key Lock issue, I have to press it to turn it on after 3 to 4 songs? This is what I noticed on Saturday.

Hi DJTAH,

I'm glad my steps helped, definitely let me know if they appear again.

The keylock issue is a known issue and is gonna be fixed really soon, I'll pop back in here with a link to the new firmware as soon as its released.

Alright here's the update!

So I was recording a mix and when I went to 4 decks, the controller froze up again! It has happened twice today.

I've got my Gig tonight and I usually only use 2 decks. I will see if it stays stable for 2 deck mode.

When the controller froze up, my crossfader was in the middle. mixing on deck 1 and deck 4. Running a beat loop on deck 4 and I was transitioning in with deck 2. After I had transitioned I went to adjust my bpm on deck 2 and that's when it froze up. That was the first time.

The 2nd time, all I did was transition from deck 4 to deck 1. Went to adjust my bpm on deck 1 and it froze up. Help....

Hi DJTAH,

Give this firmware update a try,

pioneerdj.com

When you say adjust your bpm, are you referring to the pitch controller on the hardware?

Matt P
DJTAH 10:54 PM - 19 December, 2013
Yes the tempo control is what i meant.

I stayed on just the 2 decks last night and the controller worked just fine. Except for the key lock issue, but we are hoping the new firmware fixes everything. I will update the firmware and keep you updated.

Bad news! My controller froze up again. Saturday Gig. Running videos, in the process of taking the "sync" off with the right deck. After I turned off the "sync" on the right deck, I went to adjust my pitch control, it froze up. I was only using 2 decks.

Good news is, that was the only time it happened. I'll continue to let you know if it keeps happening.

Hi DJTAH,

Ok, that doesn't sound super fun :( please let me know if you can reproduce it and if possible try it again after adjusting your usb buffer too

It has happened twice since, going to update to new firmware. I'll keep on giving you updates until the problem is fixed.

When it freezes, I am able to turn on pad plus and choose the secondary effects? Although it doesn't do anything with the audio that's playing, I am able to choose it.

I had the controller in sleep mode and when I came back to it, it was frozen. I really hope the new firmware fixes this issue. Like I said, I'll keep on giving you updates until it is fixed.

Thanks
