I cannot figure out how to start a song to play from the iPad once it is loaded. I cannot find a manual for serato remote on the website.

Hi 4191993,
At this point there is no start or stop button on the remote.
The way it was designed was to be used in conjunction with a controller that already had a start/stop button, therefore didn't require its own start stop button.
If you feel this should change i can move this to the feature suggestions area?

Hi Matt;
I would like to ask if adding a start/stop button could be added to the customer feature suggestion. I purchased the iPad remote based on a scenario of how I would like to use it and discovered it didn't support the function.
Thanks.

Hi 4191993,
I've moved this to the feature suggestion area. This will be more visible to the people who are able to make this a priority.
Thanks for your suggestion.

I second this! Please bump this up in priority on your features list. This is extremely valuable when trying to interact with your crowd. Being able to start, stop, scratch, all in all, fully mix remotely is very powerful! And honestly, your competitors are already doing it and getting rave reviews for it...

Yeah get this feature on asap.....
I also bought this app thinking i would at least be able to play a track. All other features are really good. But no way of playing the tracks lets it down

+1 a start/stop button is much needed. I could use this when doing weddings and need to do the grand entrance. This would make it so that I wouldn't need to be stuck behind my turntables and can start and stop songs while running around coordinating things. I think the start/stop button is the only thing really missing out of this awesome app.
Thanks guys!

Same feature for Serato Remote Mini too please.
It would be helpful when I'm at the bar trying to get a drink in between tracks and the que is slightly longer than ideal and the tune ends ;-)

If I am understanding your question correctly: You drag it from the central control to the deck of your choice on the remote app.

Ya it doesn't load that way as is, unless I'm missing something

@ Swami. Let me see if can figure this out: so you have the central "record" with the arrows pointing up and down? Once you have the track you wish to add: you drag the central record to the left or right deck respectively and that should load it to the required deck.
Isn't that working?

What if you stop the track accidentally when you don't want to starting a track from distance I agree its a good future but stopping know that'll make things complicated touch screen is too sensitive for this
Only cue button and running to your controller when you're holding your phone is an option but I rather that I drag the cue point to a startbutton that a track will play and if the tracks is not playing correctly we just released the cue button and then move on

That's good idea but you could also put them under another tab so they are out of the way and/or have to ability to enable/disable them. Lots of options!

Yeah that's a good idea to be able to stop the track on a other screen take the stop button and let it slide to the screen to fade out the track so you can mix from a distance and for changing the layout on remote mini like remote so far I like remote a lot makes it easy to go out to get a smoke or a leak

Glad I never bought this. No Start or Stop? Plus, what the fuck is up with charging for both the iPad and iPhone versions? (Same as Traktor) The alternate, TouchOSC, works great and is FULLY customizable. It is a bit more involved having to use Osculator, but I can control and assign anything. The feature I want and need and would use is the track listing. Hook it up. Thanks.

It's an option to buying another piece of hardware, VFX, NSFX, SP1, if you already own an Ipad or iphone. The best part, you plug it in and it works. I don't want to map and have a half working "thing", one of the reasons I chose Serato. I would like the extra features too but it's also good the way it is, I can take take my VCI-300 (how old is it?) and my iPad and I have a full SeratoDJ platform for very little money spent. If you're a pro, $5, $10 or $20 is a drop in the bucket. But hey, Serato even gave you the ability to map your own control surfaces, have a ball with TouchOSC.

I would like a start/stop button as well and i way to see the library on the mini remote so you don't have to be behind the decks for control.

For the Remote can we please have a start and stop and playlist to select songs. Until you come up with a better auto play feature. This would make a trip to the bar or front door of your venue less stressful.

we got the START button, (PLAY)
how about a STOP button now? goto temp cue...
that would make sense wouldn't it? and also a Pause
that's like having peanut butter without the jelly

Is there a way to just START a song and KEEP it playing on the mini??? Starting tracks is a nice thing to be able to do when you're DJing
