I would like to have an EQ inside SSL that would save the settings inside the track itself.

the eq's on your mixer will also compensate for your gain, but i still like having a setting built into the program that remembers it for the track.

where is the gain info saved anyway? is it in the track/overview or is it in the .scratch folder?

This feature has existed since v1.3:

This is not a good idea because what if (as an argument) your track was set with the bass all the way down (off), then moving your analog mixer bass up still wouldn't do much good, so then you get a more complex situation that is undesirable.

The obvious simple fix is to get high quality mp3's, not to serve users with low quality files.

it sounds like a good idea though!
