Yes you can midi map a midi device but you can NOT remap the controlls of the VCI-300 but if you added another midi device you can midi map some of the features in Serato DJ.

You did NOT need to buy Serato DJ as it is FREE for the vci-300.
Serato Video is a plugin, Not sure you can get refunds on software.
If the vci-300 is not upto what you expected then take it back to the store and see what they can do.
Next time you buy something do your home work! always pays off todo your home work and come here to ask anything your are unsure about.

Hey Ezeeroc
Like LJ has stated, You can MIDI map, however you will need a secondary MIDI controller to map Serato DJ controls - you will not be able to advance MIDI map the controls on your VCI-300.
If you had purchased a License for your controller, you did not need to, and if you need us to process a refund for you, please send an email to: sales@serato.com explaining your situation.
Cheers

Ok thanks guys,
well, It sucks and I feel a little mislead, but the controller was bought from a friend and re-sold already.
Can I ask: what controllers are Mappable on the Mac OSX 10.7.5 running latest Serato DJ & Video plug in. I particularly want to 'advance' Map various Video features.
Thanks

None, Serato does not offer this. Serato supported hardware is plug n play with the software.

You can map midi controlls to another controller in SDJ and SSL.
But the vci-300 is not supported in ssl you can midi map some controlls but you will still need Rane Hardware.

Hey ezeeroc,
Like LJ, has stated - you will be be able to MIDI Map the Serato Video functions to an secondary MIDI controller in Serato DJ.
It would be great to have the Serato Video controls on another layer perhaps, however some users would probably find it a bit confusing at times. With a secondary controller, the possibilities in regards to customizing is endless, and makes more sense.
I'm going to close this thread now, however if you have any more questions or issues, please don't hesitate to reopen this thread.
