hey guys i got a set of QSC KW152, those are sum powerful speakers, but also... they heavy, 79 pounds, i live on a 3rd floor no elevator.
so im looking at the EV ZLX-15P, which are way lighter. and also looking for som suggestions on a subwoofer for them.
the price on the EV's is good. but im just wondering on the power, they saying is 1000 watts class D amp... is it a 1000 watts peak or rms?
pro and con opinions guys.
thanks

I am listening to the ev zlx12ps as i post and for the money they sound very good. I have 2 ev zxa1 subs (46lbs each) that i run with them and that combo sounds great.
With that said i don't think the ev zlx15ps will have anywhere close to the output the qsc kw152. You might do well with a pair of ev zlx12p and a ev elx118p. That may give you the output you're looking for.
Also, look into the jbl prx615m that are being discontinued. At 43lbs each they are great sounding speakers that sound good without a sub. The yamaha dxr15 maybe another speaker that is great for the price. They weigh 49lbs, sound wonderful and come with a 7 year warranty. As you can see there are many options. Do your research and i'm sure you can find something that fits your pockets and needs.

Have you had a chance to hear the ev zlxs yet. i was pleasantly surprised how good they sound. The only down fall is there output isn't on par with the likes of qsc k, yamaha dxr, jbl prx, and ev elx. With a sub crossed over, they definitely hold there own and sound clean and clear without distorting.

I haven't had a chance to hear them yet, but most reviews I've read are that they sound amazing for the price, but aren't quite at the level of the ELX series which I don't think sound as good as the QSC KW series myself (although I think they're on par with the K-Series).

depends on how much convenience vs performance (and price) you're looking for.
listed wattage means almost nothing these days so I'd go to the store and just have a listen and decide yourself.

With that being said, you are correct.
