I am having the same issue Concept is having.. When i play a song it sounds like there's some kind of interferance. static noise. like an old dirty record. i performed various trouble shooting techniques to try and dertermine the source. i use an HP laptop w/ a djm-800, & turntables. I've used this same set up for almost 2 yrs w/ no issues. i used it last week and it was fine, and when i used it on sunday (11/23/08), i started hearing the static noise. i've had ver 1.8.2 for about 2-3 months and there was no prob before until now. i have not changed any settings or done anything to my PC or to the SL1 software from the time it was doing good, till the time i noticed the problem. when i play the song using serato without the decks, (from my pc headphone jack to the mixer) it sounds fine. i uninstalled the program, reinstalled it and the same thing. I even used another firend's serato box, and it still did the same thing. internal mode as well. i played a regular vinyl record and it was fine. i changed rca and usb cables and it did not help. Do you know of anything else it might be??? can you help??

Does this happen with both decks? What does your calibration screen look like? Have you tried using a different laptop? What about using a different USB port on that same laptop?

yeah it does it on both decks. i have three usb ports and they all sound the same. i did use my friends laptop (toshiba satellite) and it didn't do it on her laptop. She also has ver. 1.8.2. I played around with the calibration but it didn't make a difference. From what i can see, the problem is coming from the usb port. But for the same problem to happen on all three ports, has me baffled. i just can't pinpoint the problem. if it's the usb ports or a combination of the ports with the SL1 software. anything else you can help with??.. thnx

Sounds like its just the ports on your compter acting as hubs. What you might need is a PCMCIA USB card. This will strengthen the USB port on your computer allowing your computer to run SSL.

No prob. Seems like it was just the ports on the lappy. Regardless, glad you got it solved, let us know of any further issues.
