hi

just tested a few hours wit serato dj 1.3 + twitch controller

after a time (+-100mins) playing with it, the cpu overload light went on.
orange and red, every few seconds
it kept lighting the rest of the test. +-30mins

is this normal, I'm a bit worried
I thought my laptop was over dimensioned...

apple macbook pro
early 2011
2,2 intel core i7
4GB DDR3 ram
AMD radeon HD 6750M 1024mb
osx 10.8.4

thanks

Last nite I was practicing with SDJ and the same thing (CPU overload warning) happens to me (W7- i7 PC) while using the new multi-FX feature, opened up 'task manager' and CPU usage was around 7%, after pausing both decks CPU warning lite was still on .... so I don't know exactly what is going on...

I also was busy testing the effects to the limit
also after disabling the effects the red light kept on blinking
even after a pause with the audio

some more info about my system
the laptop was not on battery, I use the album cover view to browse my tracks, I have 2500 tracks in the library

I've had the same problem, some people are saying its a bug BUT I've been pushing sdj to its limits and to see how it handles under real life testing. The cpu stall light does work, under test conditions I've enabled some of Windows processes that are well known to cause high routines and run Sdj and sure enough it picked them up and warned of high use however under task manager core use was only 11%. I think that's a good news/bad news scenario. Good news that Serato is saying 'Hang on something is upsetting the processer and can cause me problems' Bad news because a lot of windows users don't know enough about the O/S or how to streamline Windows to run real time audio reliably.
Run latencymon without sdj running and see if you really are getting cpu usage spikes

After further pushing Windows and Sdj for the past few hours with regards the Cpu warning and Serato have got it right. It is sensitive which is good, follows the Exact ( or very close)results of latencymon.
Follow Serato's guide on Windows and I'll bet you won't go far wrong, shame I can't upload screenshots to back this up but I can dropbox it.
One thing on both my laptop's is WiFi commands really upsets sdj.

Launched SDj. Outputs overload CUP. Plays tracks from the interruption, slow playback.
Who has dealt with a similar problem?
SDJ disappointed ..

Запустил SDj. Выдает перегрузку CUP. Проигрывает треки с прерыванием, тормозит проигрывание.
Кто Имел дело с подобной проблемой ?
SDJ разочаровал..

Hey djsteven.be,

I wouldn't be to concerned about that unless it starts to dropout. Make sure you have the latest Novation USB Drivers from here: global.novationmusic.com

What is your USB Buffer latency set to in the Serato DJ Setup screen?

Regards

meanwhile I use a different much newer macbook retina
2,7 intel core i7
16gb ram
intel hd graphics 4000
osx 10.8.5

the new driver is installed (I had a crash because I did not had installed the driver, I thought mac + serato dj was plug & play...)

indeed no dropouts (with the previous macbook)

the usb buffer is set to 5/256

I'm gonna test some more with the new macbook and come back on this in a few days
