What's good,

I having an issue i can seem to resolve and really am not understanding the why behind it. Without launching my Scratch live in my Sound system preference my SL3 Audio Control Panel is showing and ready to go, however the minute i launch my Scratch Live the audio control panel then says "SL3 IS NOT CONNECTED AND SEARCHING.......".

Yet when my Scratch live is now open i am still able to play music which comes out of my external speakers with absolutely no problem. When i go into setup in Scratch Live is says SL3 is connected. Why are the two conflicting???

I realized all of this by chance as i have been trying to broadcast live for the last 2 weeks using Nicecast and realized i am able to connect but unable to output any music. Now don't get me wrong i don't believe the conflict is Nicecast because all of the above issues are happening without me even launching Nicecast.

Does anyone have any feedback on this issue. Thanks in advance and would sure love to get some accurate assisstance.

Im pretty sure if you have scratch live open you will not be able to use theSL3 Audio Control Panel They do not connect at the same time

So its not that you're having a problem its just in general im not 100% on the reasons
Hope rane/serato will jump on this for you

cheers matt

Thanks Matt for the feedback. Ultimately I need to figure out why I'm unable to have the audio stream live on Nicecast and i figured that was the best way to start breaking down what one of the issues might be.

Cheers

Im sure i have read somewhere the reasons behind it . im just looking now

Can you not run a audio cable from mixer to your laptop and select that input on your nicecast programme , Im not sure never used it just a thought really

cheers

So when i use mine as a audio sound card i have sl2 it uses the left deck output . To put audio though my mixer so im guessing the reason why the 2 thing dont connect at the same time because you would have a audio problem between serato scratch live wanting to use that channel and SL2 Audio Control Panel wanting to use that channel to output sound aswell

Unless the SL3 Audio Control Panel is differnt to my sl2 one then i dont think you can select it to say output sound from your aux deck its defaulted to that left channel

cheers matt

I'm new to the online thing so i'm guessing that if I'm running output from only one deck it would play put of that one channel. Is there something I'm missing? Also i don't have any rca cables to my Mac so I am wondering exactly what sort of connection or adapter I might need.

Worse part bout thus whole thing us tonight should be week 3 if online streaming and unable to deliver anything. Smh!!!

From my understanding scratch live would be using it as soon as you open the programme is opened so even if you have nothing playing its taken control of you rane sl3 . so trying to get audio out from that channel using the audio control panel would cause a conflicted
hence they dont run at the same time .

So if you select your sl3 to be your mac soundcard in sound system prefs then it just uses the sl3 as a stereo out put to say mixer . i have just tried it and that is the left chanel output from my sl2 so i think will be the same on your sl3

If you have scratch live open its use left and right of your sl3 as your left and right deck output . so both scratch live and audio control wont be able to use that left chanel at the same time .

As for the cable you will need a phono cable from record out on the mixer to 3.5 jack to conncet to your mac line in .Then in system pref audio you have tabs at the top select input then change that from mic to line in .
And then in the nicecast select your mac line in and i would say it would broadcast everything that you play on your decks .

Hope that makes sence
cheers matt

Sorry for the late response. I'm all good now. Working and good to go. 3.5 adapter made the difference. Thanks to everyone who had input in helping me fix my problem.
