Twitch IS getting the upgrade though (but who knows when... 2014 at this rate). Unlike the DX.

hey PB whats funny is the 380 being one of the main controllers so far for SDJ and its a cross breed of the 300 and Twitch with are both dumped at the back of the line lol

The way I see it, the Twitch was probably a low seller compared to a lot of the other controllers.

I love mine, and will use it again when it gets the upgrade comes, but a controller without jogs is pretty niche in the Serato universe.

Seems to me that the 300 was really popular, but a lot of users might have moved on to other controllers by now. Turnover in the controller world is pretty quick.

I just looked and although the 300 mk2 is still on the Vestax global site, none of the retailers I use in the UK even list it anymore.

I'm sure Vestax would have requested that their newer controllers be supported first, especially as they're still on sale in stores.

Yeah I purchased a Twitch so I could have a small controller in the upgrade path and could ditch my defective DX. It's a shame to see that upgrade pushed. On the bright side at least, and as you alluded to I know it IS coming, as opposed to before with the DX where we all bitched about it for a while until we came to the realization that it wasn't going to happen.

My unqualified opinion is that this upgrade is suffering from a general lack of urgency since Novation doesn't have any controllers to offer that have paid for upgrade paths (or any other controllers outside of the Twitch for that matter). But again, at least it is going to be available at some point.

I suspect the VCI-300 is suffering a similar fate. Sitting on the backburner, while the newer controllers, and companies with controllers that have paid for upgrade paths take priority.

I think all of us can clearly see money is the key but i dont think it would so down there cash flow in any way.. but the upgrade will make me feel like serato give a shit about us and that will make me spend more money with them and keep me a paying customer..

I never got any of them based on serato not upgrading the older ones just plain and straight i like the controllers but now i have them i would like that all on one software..
(so serato giving us the upgrade for the VCI300 will not stop us buying a VCI-1000 ok)

i use SDJ with my ns6 and i love it... I dj every day so a wear out a controller kinda quick i like to use my vci300 as a banger (old car) as not to put so much miles on the newer ones.. but i just really dont like using itch any more!!! pls hurry up serato

I would actually like to know why it was pushed back. If it was in development; and they had an ETA why have I seen several Serato employees post about "if there aren't issues" I don't get it? Is this not already in at least an alpha build? How is Serato DJ different between the controllers? How is it that a controller that's been around SO long can not be supported? How is it other Vestax units are?


Serato - straight up...what is the hang up here? Why is it you feel like your client base will continue to put up with failed and broken promises? What about this SPECIFICALLY is causing any delay?

trust me ddjken they are just holding it back with the hope more dj with older controllers go out and but a new sdj supported controller its just so f*%ked up.., we have stayed with serato over the long years with many crashes, glitches, timely updates, so on and so on... i remember when i re-analyzed all my tracks in itch and it messed up every song and serato just said ohh sorry thank God i had "time machine" point is serato we stand with you so dont had back on us (fine line from love to hate).

Here's the thing, they released some fixes and added serato remote support and couple more controllers.

The hold up most likely was the serato remote implementation on both sides of the fence. So now getting controllers added to SDJ should be much quicker with the Serato Remote project being completed.

Tempted to go Traktor now tbh. Waited too long and found a good midi-map of it, next control will then be based on Traktor compatibility, not Serato. Fed up of waiting :(

i see the update coming around Sept end of Summer. I can't believe that it is that difficult for the Vci 300 since it is the template for all the Vestax controllers. It just a matter for testing drivers and mapping issues. I think it is just on the back burner because it is a free update. Trust me at my company we only push updates for critical issues and more sales. I know the game. Vestax is a part of this also. Serato will update per their request. It is in Vestax best interest to delay this for vci 380 and 400 plus typhoon(really) sales. No disrespect I understand it is not easy to push out updates. I know all to well!!!!!

The worst part is that the vci300 was such a key player in where serato controllers are today most somehow seem based off the vci300, it really got alot of djs on the serato controller movement so to see them just push it to the side is sickening... I have many controllers and i do use SDJ with them but way should i/we have to wait for God knows how long to use all our high priced controllers on one software.. dont want to hear about summer winter .... just get it done

ok so serato's facebook say the update for the vci300 is being worked on and will be out this summer... anyone know when summer is over?

Hey vci 300 faithful. I got a crazy deal on a vci 380 for 499. I will keep my vci 300 as a backup but I see it will be discontinue soon. Im still waiting for da update!!!!!!!

I've been using Traktor DJ on my IPAD for a few months now, and let me tell you, it's pretty tight! It doesn't have all the gadgets of Serato DJ or Traktor Pro, but it packs a lot with minimal equipment. I've only DJ'd one gig with it so far, but it does what it says it does. I was getting bored with the delay for the VCI-300, so I tried something new, and I must say it has made waiting for Serato DJ much more fun.

I recommend that you give it a try and I'm sure that it'll keep you busy until Serato DJ is updated to support the VCI-300!
