Very nice setup. I'm leaning towards some 3900's now as well. The NS6 ain't cuttin' it and my TT's are too heavy for an average mobile gig.

Yeah the NS6 is just for ceremonies and non scratching parties... The CDJ's are cool bizness, as JM would say... I opted for the new joints because I was able to sell my 3700's...

Why isn't the ns6 cutting it for you.

Mostly due to software issues with iTch. THere are bugs and dropouts that have not been ironed out and support shows no signs of fixing them. Scratch Live has always been solid for me. They use Serato's A-Team developers.

I had the same problems when i first got the unit. What i think the problem is it doesn't work well with a Core 2 Duo processor. I don't think they want to admit to that, but once i got my new macbook pro (Oct 11 release) i no longer had any problems or drop outs. I also run serato video with absolutely no problems.

Thanx for pointing that out JDKing. I'm hoping to get more mileage out of my 2.66 MBP b4 I'm forced to buy new again.

KSmith, did you notice much difference in sound quality with the 62 vs. The 57?

Extreme sound quality difference my brotha... The 61/62 is cleaner, much more crisp, and fuller than the sound from the 57. I believe that's one of the differences that makes gettting these new mixers worth it, especially when you're playing at a higher volume. Sounds so good...

I just cant let K Smith have all the fancy covered gear ;)

Question guys: what does a non-shelf coffin, 2 Denon 3900's and a 57 mixer weigh total? If it's less than a NS7 + coffin, I'll go that route.

this was my setup

Per the the datasheet 3900 are 12 lbs
Rane 62 = 14.lbs
Oddyssey Flight FX = 48lbs
Total 86 lbs

old setup
RoadReady 10 inch coffin = 40.78 lbs
Rane 57 = 12 lbs
CDJ 800Mk2 = 9.3 lbs
Total 71.6 lbs

I think I'd chose the Odyssey case w/o the tray so it's 42 lbs and I have a 57 mixer so the total would by about 78 lbs. Or should I just go with separate cases for 3900's. I already have a mixer case and it already has a laptop tray built into it. Decisions... decisions...

I Like coffins and having the equipment pre-wired.

This is my first attempt in "clean" wiring with the new gears. Gonna see how it works tomorrow. and report back.
Made it long enough so I can move the laptop to the left middle or to the right of the coffin.
