Hi, i have an issue with my DDJ ERGO. whenever i plug in, turn on and load serato it says 'hardware disconnected'. i have read through some of the problem pages already and tried to find fixes but no no joy. I seems a similar issue to the one on the thread serato.com . I cant play sound through my ergo from any source (itunes, media player, serato, virtual dj) and the controller does not work the two dj programs either. Lastly, i tried my device on my girlfriends mac and everything worked a dream straigh away but i want to be able to work it on my laptop. I am running windows 7 64 bit by the way. please respond as i am keen to start djing. any help greatly appreciated. thanks

Hey Nik,
Sounds like you have taken the right roads troubleshooting the issue. Here is some thoughts, firstly I'd go to the Pioneer website and download and install the driver updates there, see if that helps. Also make sure that in your 'sound' in control panel or on your task bar make sure that the Ergo is not the default device. Once installing the new drivers make sure that the onboard sound card is the select default device and not the Ergo.

Let me know how you go Nik.

Hi Dave,
thanks for your reply a long time ago, i have only just realised you had replied as i hadnt checked the site.
all my firmware/drivers etc are up to date on the ergo and serato is running the latest version.
i came across a different thread where somebody uploaded a video of drivers etc and you managed to determine which where pointless etc but i am unable to view this video so cant check it against mine.
when i open serato, and switch my ergo on i do not get the decks appear and have the hardware disconnected message. im sure its something simple. would love it if you could possibley help me
cheers, Nik

Hey Nik Edmands,
Can you make doubly sure you are running Serato DJ Intro and not Serato DJ?
Also did you check the default playback device was the internal soundcard and not your Pioneer DDJ-Ergo?
