This time reinstalling drivers on OS X 10.7.3 Lion and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit doesn't help.
What happened?
Everything worked fine. Then I closed ITCH and the usual lights (when the Twitch is working as a regular audio interface) were not on. So I disconnected the Twitch and connected it back again. It didn't help.
I did a reboot of my Mac, tried it with my Windows desktop PC, installed (the already installed) Novation drivers (2.4 on Mac, 2.3 on Windows) again.
The Twitch is still not responding - at all :(
Hope you can help!

Hey Serkan,
So you can't get it to respond at all on your computer? Have you tried different usb cables and/or on another computer yet? Give it a go, let me know how you go with that.
If we can't get power to it it maybe a faulty unit but lets try every first.

I tried another USB cable without success but I got it working again.
Just plugged the USB cable into a powered USB hub after turning off the computer. Don't ask me why I did this - I think I was desperate :)
The touch strips did their light show so I knew the unit gets power so I turned my MacBook Pro on and plugged the Twitch in and it was fine again.
But: You (and the guys at Novation) should have a close look on this. It will be a nightmare if I had this issue right before a gig!

btw:
I don't know if we can call this "fixed" as there really is a problem since it happened to me the second time now.

Hey Serkan,
I'd say the issue here is maybe with the USB Hub, we don't recommend the use of them at all because these things can happen. I'd only plug in the TWITCH directly into your Mac. If you have to use a USB hub, make sure it's the powered one and if this happens restart Hub.

Oh, you got me wrong.
I never use a USB hub when running the Twitch, not even on the other USB port of my Mac.
The only reason why I plugged the Twitch into an USB hub was this:
The Twitch was not being recognized in OS X 10.7.3, Windows 7, and Windows XP so I thought I should try a USB port that has nothing but power - and the Twitch responded with flashing touch strips. After that I disconnected the Twitch from the hub and connected it directly to a USB port of a running computer (in this case my MacBook Pro).

OK, forget about my "solution".
Twitch is not responding again and the powered USB hub doesn't help.
So all the "solutions" won't work and I have a serious problem with this controller! :(

Hey Syroz,
As far as I know to date this was a hardware issue, i'm still waiting for an update from Serkan in relation to the result. If you'd like to start a new thread we can help you personally. :)

Hi.
I always get it work after a couple tries with different USB ports. Once the Twitch shows any reaction I only have to connect it to my Mac and it works like I never had a problem... until it randomly starts to die again.
I contacted the German Novation support (who replied within 24 hours - great!) and they're guessing it might be a hardware issue, too.
I'm going to send an e-mail to the dealer I got my unit from and see what they say.

Hey sherkan,
When you say couple of usb ports, you mean different computers/gears or diffreent ports ofthe same computer ?

@Dave, do you think a double usb might be the solution ? one like this one :
www.pearl.fr
i would try i myself but i wouldn't want to damage the unit, with an overload.
And in the meantime, no solution for my friday gig.

Quick update.
WIthout me doing anything, the controller is now detected by the computer. It correctly appears in the usb details. And it does appears and work as a sound card in traktor. But still i can't use it as a controller, and it's not even detected in itch. It also doesn't appear as active in the midi panel.
strange ....

so it has happened to me again ("thank you" for closing my previous problem thread before solving it)
strips are on, but my mac can't find twitch as a device (in itch and in audio/midi), i've tried it on another mac - same result (latest drivers/software/firmware everything)
will try it on few windows systems tomorrow, and i'm not sure that it's only a hardware issue

The problem seems to be gone (again) with me and everything is working as it's supposed to do. As I still have warranty on my Twitch I will keep using it and send it so my dealer only if it happens again because I think it doesn't make sense to return a device that is currently working without a hassle.
@ Adel Noiza:
I'd suggest you to try it on a Windows system or a simple USB power adaptor (i.e. iPhone charger) as I did.
As my problem is "solved" (possible hardware issue) I'll mark this thread as "fixed" and make room for your help requests.
I'll keep you updated if I have this issue again and what the response from my dealer and/or Novation will be.
