"I’m also mindful that with the now confirmed Serato Ableton Bridge 2 (it’s probably not called that), I’m probably going to save my pennies up to buy a S8 outright. I will however reserve final judgement until I get my hands on one in the Worxlab."

We're currently doing a lot of R&D around this and how we can make it more usable and more tailored to the actual needs and wants of DJs and musicians who will benefit from this!
We're hoping to be having something next year, as mentioned in that video :)
I know we've been pretty closed off with info until now so apologies for all the uncertainty. I know it's still kind of vague though...
Stay tuned.
Sam.
its gonna happen but nobody knows when or what its going to have... right now all we can do is hope, pray, whine, and suggest.

I recall reading in some thread (2015 even) that Serato was planning on incorporating "Bridge like features."
I'd love to see that clip rack in SDJ.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys want to get out of the new Bridge? What exactly do you want to achieve?

I'd like to host hihats, basslines, snares, etc and play in my own track in as I would in Ableton. But then having my turntables/DVS available to scratch in an acapella or just play some cuts.
It would be nice to loop clips together and not have to babysit them while having the full scratch benefit on hand. Or go into a controllerist kinda routine amongst a traditional A-B mixing set.

Do you use hardware with Ableton to trigger clips? Sounds like a MIDI clock out in SDJ would work for what you want to do.

Yup Big Pops it's been a feature request for years. Unfortunately we can't do everything and we've had a few things prioritised over MIDI Clock but it's gonna happen trust me!

Logan D, who gets to decide what the priorities are?
It's certainly not based on the +1's like we all originally thought.
Perhaps it should be based on a time perspective?
Unfortunately all you are saying is the same thing you guys said a year ago.
It's coming, it's coming...... 5 years, maybe 10 but hey it's coming!

what priorities? Support yet another controller?
Sorry but except introducing support for some new hardware (not much interresting for most of the customers who already purchased your products) there was nearly nothing new introduced and the most requested features - even the simpliest ones - remain without attention....

serato are about to lose a massive market share to pioneer's new software so i can see them releasing the most requested things in the next year or two,
funny serato "prioritised" these pioneer controllers only to be stabbed in the back

Serato kinda stabbed their loyal Scratch-Live customers in the back by giving priority to Pioneer controllers. Only to have Pioneer stabb them in the back in return.
Totally wack!!

-mixtape for serato dj
-midi clock output
-sync ableton to seratos master bpm
-routing serato channel output thru ableton while playing live
-ability to add effects/plugins to master your master output
-ableton style quantization
-abletons control over midi mapping
-being able to scratch in your ableton set
-seraato to recognize abletons .als warping
..some of these things could be fixed/added in serato dj itself.
