when I delete a song, a box with the empy space still shows up. How do I completely delete a song like it was never there. Not just a bunch of empty spaces

Try updating to SSL 1.8.2 and see if this helps with song deletion. A few bug fixes in 1.8.2 help issues like this from happenning.
