I'm assuming they are read only files. You can click on the song so it is highlighted and then hit CTRL + I (to get info) and you should be able to change that setting under the attributes.

that didnt work. There songs i purchased off of itunes that dont get recognized in serato. Weird huh?

No actually thats not wierd. Songs bought from iTunes are DRM protected and cannot/will not play in any other player other than iTunes. The only way around this is to burn these files to an Audio CD and then re-rip them back to your computer and re-tag them.
